in bloom

in bloom

Magnolia in bloom!

The massive magnolia branch, my friend Rosa brought from the market last week, was big and beautiful! and top-heavy...
Even the largest jug in the house, couldn't handle the weight. So I decided to cut off the side branches and make a magnolia bouquet.

The flower-buds opened up one by one in the past days. Today the magnolia is in full bloom and is shining on my home-made plant stand.

budding bougainvillea leaves

bougainvillea bougainvillea bougainvillea

The new leaves of the Bougainvillea in the kitchen windowsill are turning pink again.

This week I noticed the first pink leaves (yay!), followed by more after only a few days.
First signs of spring!

The window sill is a bright, sunny growing location and I hope within a while I can move the plant back in the backyard.

Sunshine is the most important requirement for this blooming beauty. The same goes for me...

fritillaria

fritillaria

Monday on the 'show off' shelf; the Fritillaria meleagris.

I'm fond of these spring bulbs!
The checkered patterns of the flowers are incredibly sophisticated, one by one small graphic artworks.

The Fritillaria postcard is the work of artist Martin Jarrie.

a sudden spring sensation

a sudden spring sensationa sudden spring sensationa sudden spring sensation a sudden spring sensationa sudden spring sensation

Those flowers are on the kitchen table for almost the whole week now.
The afternoon sun is shining through the living room and it was so light, when I came home from work.

All of a sudden I was overwhelmed by a strong spring sensation, just looking at the very same flowers...
I love that feeling!

(and I had to capture the moment)
