summer sofa

summer sofa

The white summer sofa is for sale.

Last weekend we found a vintage bamboo daybed and we don't have place for another sofa in the livingroom.

So the white sofa has to go, with pain in my heart i've to admit...

It's an Ikea Nikkala sofa (not available anymore) with a natural white cotton sofa cover by Bemz.

soft pineapple sofa

pineapple rugpineapple rugpineapple rug

The second pineapple rug is finished!
Today I've used it, to sit on as a soft garden bench cushion. From the first floor I saw this bright summer scene, went down for the camera, to share it with you and just now I found out the pineapple is upside down (haha, however still cool)

The first rug I made some months ago and it was not my intention to sell it.
A sweet blog follower from Autralia send me an e-mail, she would like to buy it because the rug would make the perfect wedding gift for her friends (and she couldn't crochet at all). I missed my huge pineapple the minute it was shipped and decided to make another one. It's quite a cool project and it doesn't take so much time to make it.

Do you feel like freshen up your place (or garden) with a pineapple rug?
You can find the PINEAPPLE PATTERN in my E T S Y shop.

casa emocional

casa emocionalcasa emocionalcasa emocionalgood morning

As I'm reading my favorite Spanish interior magazine AD - architectural digest - I come across a term that really appeals to me;

casa emocional
Cerámica, geometrías, arte de amigos, mantas de ganchillo y mucho humor.
Esa es mi casa!

Ceramics, geometries, art of friends, crocheted blankets and lot's of humor are the signs of an emotional home.

The house we live in, belongs to this category.

airy appearance

livingnew york & paris vs new yorkliving

Ever since I saw the half blue Ercol love seat at Anthropologie, I'm in love with that wooden design bench!
They are quite pricey new and a vintage bench is hard to find, or priceless.
This remake of the wooden sixties bench is such a wonderful and affordable alternative.
I love it!

moving

My office moved a few meters eastwards today.
Our new super long sofa caused a 'furniture swap'.
(all possibilities have passed through)
After a lot of shuffling back and forth, everything has a new place and I do not even have to get used to it.
The whole family can sit on the 4.5 couch.
We even fit all at once and there is still plenty of space for at least half a person.

With my brand-new big wool handmade 'sennaloves' cowl. (sometimes another project slips in between, even though I really have no time for it at all)

Drinking coffee on the new peony pink Fermob bench in the garden. (after a few days showing off in the living room)

It's a piece of candy in front of the wooden fence with garden poem. (None can have a healthy love for flowers, unless he loves the wild ones - Forbes Watson.)

cool shadow

cool shadow, originally uploaded by wood & wool stool.

By far the best place to spend a hot summer day, is in the shadow of a tree.

The garden poem on the fence suddenly looks like a riddle;

None can have...
unless he...

the garden

the garden, originally uploaded by wood & wool stool.

Actually I have a lot of work to do in my home. On Friday, Masami Kita with her Japanese team will visit my place for a photoshoot and it will be featured in a Dutch edition of the Japanse interior book Editions de Paris, but the house is not quite ready for this. Pippa's bedroom is a (constant) mess and to be honest the whole house could use a spring cleaning.

After a few hours I decided to have a little break in the garden, because it's such a sunny day. I moved to the bench to have a cold drink and I took my crochet basket, because I have quite a few orders to go. During this break I just worked on a pillow for Silvia from Sisi.

After an hour I went on my bike to the supermarket, because the fridge is empty and then back to work. First I checked my mail at my workspace on the attic (wrong; I can't help drifting to the web) and had a good view on the white bench and greenest grass ever in the backyard. The yellow mossy stuff that once used to be green grass is replaced by a new turf and what we call a velvet tree is planted.

The garden is flirting with me and you know what, I'll do the housekeeping tomorrow.
