A new design for the house; a harlequin blanket. I have made it for my Bertoia desk chair.
You can find the original harlequin pattern in my Etsy S H O P!
ps:
the answer to a frequently asked question: yes, I crochet everything myself!

I am very pleased with the pillow p♦r♦o♦j♦e♦c♦t so far.
The pillow cover is growing slowly, diamond by diamond.
Two more 'rows' to go, then the handmade oblong pillow cover is finished (at least one side of the pillow)
I like it so much already and it's wonderful to design something new.
I don't have a ♦ crochet pattern, but I figured it out myself.
The wool gets kind of knotty and I can not watch a movie and crochet ♦ at the same time (yet).
After lunch at the IJ-kantine we had a wonderful boat trip on the NDSM ferry to the city center of Amsterdam.
Starting with a walk through the Haarlemmerstraat and back along the Brouwersgracht, where we happened to meet Mariette, owner of From Africa With Love.
She invited us in her home & gallery with handmade, recycled products from South Africa.
The collection consists of beautiful and original handmade lighting (Magpie) and furniture (Adobe), home and kitchen textiles (Skinny Laminx).
I fell in love with the Magpie lights and yellow coffee table.
We were more than pleasantly surprised by this visit and Mariette radiates sincere Love From Africa.
There was the office in the attic (with pc)
and the office under the stairs (with everything else).
Those two offices have finally merged into one;
with a fresh clear desk (including Angelic corner)
with a wall of the finest wood (collected through the years)
with a brand new Hee Hay lounge chair (suitable for indoor and outdoor crochet)
I proudly present the new 'wood and wool stool headquarters'
wood & wool stool @ woonbeurs were two fantastic days!
It was very inspiring and fun to do some 'wood & wool stooling' in the 101 woonideeën house. Tuesday I spend with Thalé (Pippa D) and Wednesday with Jane (ATLITW) and I enjoyed their company.
Fun and surprising @ the Woonbeurs are; 101 woonideeën house, Sjakies, Neef Louis, Spectrum with Dutch masterpiece 'girl with the pearl earring' by IXXI and the VT Wonen house. The wool unit in front of the checkered 'villa augustus' hallway wall is awesome and was one of my favorite items.
Tuesday night we had dinner at Fifteen and stayed at the Lloyd hotel.
It was great fun and I was pretty exhausted after two days. Thanks everyone for visiting!
Approximately one year ago I met Anke of Household Hardware in her shop at the Westergasfabriek in Amsterdam.
After a few minutes there was a click and we had a nice conversation about stools & crochet & Morocco; our cooperation plan was born.
Household Hardware imports handmade stools of recycled wood from Marrakech and at that time Anke just started a crochet project with Moroccan women. What a coincidence! She suggested it would be great to produce my design of the traditional crochet cover for the wood & wood stool in Morocco. I made some samples in different colors in the most traditonal pattern and after one year of development, the stools are now available in the wholesale.
The large orders that are impossible for me to make myself, can now be processed.
The design seems to be a success and the stools have been purchased by several European shops in Amsterdam, Copenhagen, Ibiza en London.
Meanwhile I have designed the prototype of a pouf, so the collection will soon be expanded.
Today I met Anke in the wholesale in Amsterdam and we are both very happy with the outcome of our cooperation.
I still continue to make stools in a variety of patterns and colors, as I have done so far. It always remains possible, to order a wood & wool stool in your favorite color and pattern. I've been inspired by this 'adventure' to design new stools and products.
By the way, Anke's beautiful (bed & breakfast) home Chambre Demi in Marrakech is featured in the June issue of Elle Wonen.
It was not easy to get this IKEA PS Vågö chair designed by Thomas Sandell.
A typical case of love at first sight. It's perfect for outdoor use and came in the colors black, white, green & orange.
Unfortunately the easy garden chair disappeared very quickly from the PS collection and I occasionally searched on the web for a secondhand chair.
With spring approaching, I ventured once again an attempt to obtain this classic design. I finally found one and was also fortunate, it was in my favorite color and accompanied by a matching footstool. Yay!
This morning the big package arrived and the plastic seating surface was rather cold when I made a test sit, so I put my sheepskin Ludde on it and enjoyed the new Vågö while reading the newspaper.
Now the seat is moved to the backyard and I look forward to the spring, for it's a perfect chair to 'sit and hook'.
