occasional dress

Some dresses you only wear on special occasions. The dress I wear every few years.

The silk Fornarina dress is a bit over the top, but above all very elegant and feminine. It's almost vintage, because I already have it for many years. It popped up from my wardrobe, to be the party dress for the wedding party part two of our friends Marleen and Mick last Saturday.



The last time I was wearing it before, was when we visited the Theatre-Museum Dalí in Fiqueres in July 2014.

Hurray, hurray!
Our daughter Pippa graduated high school today!

The mentor who called her, asked if we have a Dutch flag.
Pippa said, yes of course.
Well, you can raise the flag!

Hurray for Pippa! We all are very proud of her!
We went to Rotterdam to celebrate Pippa's party on the terrace of Hotel New York!
(and we had a special evening together in the sunshine...)

bright bazaar book launch

We joined Will Taylor to celebrate his new book Bright Bazaar in London last Wednesday.

The book is awesome and a true homage to colour! We had a great time at the book launch party at West Elm. It was a lovely crowded party with lots of champagne and delicious kooky bakes.

We are so proud Will & Andrew were with us to photograph our home and the colors of our interior are part of this #makeyousmilestyle book.

wood & wool garland pattern

The wood & wool garland I've designed in the summer of 2008 is a huge success.

I've made quite some party garlands the past years and I get lots of questions about the pattern.

augustus party

Yesterday we had a staff party at Villa Augustus.
The invitation itself, was a party!
We had a BBQ in the orchard (the food was delicious) followed by a spectacular performance of the Villa Augustus Band and a dance party in the Limonaia.
Nobody had to work, because former employees were hired for the evening.
It was a party as it should be!
