Roadtrip Sardinia - 4 days in San Teodoro

Tortoli - San Teodoro

Making trips with the Fiat 500 is great in Sardinia. The island is surprisingly large, we initially 'misjudged' that. Sardinia is slightly larger than half of the Netherlands.

Via Gennargentu National Park, we did the mountain stage (Giro 2017) on the SS125 with hundreds of curves, horses on the road and amazing views.

After a long spectacular ride, we arrived at our last hotel on the outskirts of San Teodoro.

Tutto Mare.
We spent the last days of our vacation mainly on the beach and in the sea. In the morning coffee in a village. In the afternoons we visited the most beautiful bays with clear blue water; La Cinta, l'Isuledda, Capo Coda Cavallo, Cada Brandinchi. And every evening the delight of Sardinian cuisine. We ate out of the sea every night.

We savoured the sweet Sardinian life. La dolce vita! Grazie for all the great moments during these sixteen days...

Roadtrip Sardinia - 4 days in Tortolì

Well somewhere in the middle of nowhere, 5 km south of Tortoli. Four days surrounded by nature.

From urban Cagliari to a rural B&B without WiFi and contact with the outside world. On the other hand very close to the most beautiful quiet beaches. On our way back from the beach, we spotted two black snakes on the dirt road...

In the mornings we visited villages in the nearby area, like Santa Maria Navarrese and Bari Sardo. The afternoons we spent on beautiful beaches. In the evenings we drove with our Fiat 500 to Tortoli for dinner. (out of 16 days, we ate fish 15 times)

Because the most beautiful beaches could only be reached by boat or via a long mountain hike, we decided to book a day-boattrip on Andrea's speedboat. An unforgettable day! The nature in Sardinia is unspoilt and incredibly beautiful in this region.

We were dropped on deserted beaches by boat to be picked up an hour later, we visited 5 beaches. All beautiful bays with clear light blue water. My favorite one was Cala Biriola!

Roadtrip Sardinia - 4 days in Cagliari

We stayed 4 nights in B&B Angioy 18.

The bed & breakfast is perfectly located in the center of Cagliari, close to via Roma, Piazza Matteotti and Largo Carlo Felice.

The recently renovated apartment in the characteristic building consists of three rooms. We stayed in one of the bright and spacious rooms with high ceilings and a balcony.

The extraordinary hospitality that we experienced were the included breakfasts, served at home in the kitchen by Fabio, the owner. Every morning he surprised us with a delicious breakfast, composed of espresso, juice, fresh bread, fruits, different cakes and typical Sardinian products, bought on the market in the morning. A wonderful way to start the day.

Fabio helped us every day with suggestions to discover the hidden corners of Cagliari, suggesting best beaches in the area and the most interesting places to visit in the city, off the beaten track, exactly how we like it.

On the last evening in Cagliari, when we returned from spiaggia Poetto and walked back from the parking, Fabio called us.
His wife had organized a surprise party for his birthday and he invited us to come over. How cool!

It was great fun and very special to experience a typical Sardinian birthday party with his family (all those sweet nieces and daughters) and friends. This last evening made our stay in Cagliari più indimenticabile!
