x-mas rehab

x-mas rehabx-mas rehab

Hope you all had a wonderful Christmas time...

We survived Christmas. Despite flu and intense cold.
The Christmas tree has moved outside and the magnetic pompons are sticking to the locker.

X-mas rehab...

the tree

the treethe treethe treethe tree

Especially for Pippa! Because she wanted it so badly; a real Christmas tree!

After years of all kinds of homemade XL wood & wool x-mas trees, we finally have an old-fashioned green Christmas tree with candle lights again.

In 2008 we made our first xl wooden x-mas tree. It stayed in our backyard for a whole year and in December 2009 we moved it in the house again.
In 2009 we had the h e a r t tree.
In 2010 we had a p a s t e l tree.
In 2011 we had a c h r i s t m a s - s t o r y tree.
In 2012 we even had a c h r i s t m a s - c a b i n e t.

Pippa and I had lot's of fun picking a tree last Tuesday. We checked all x-mas trees and ultimately we chose the most beautiful one...
Yesterday I bought a tree stand because the wooden stand I made myself was not 'functioning'. We decorated the tree with pastel pompons and real candles.
This morning I changed the real candles (so beautifully scandinavian...) in the tree for an old-fashioned light cord with almost-real-candles. (for safety sake)

Just love the tree and it smells so good...

pompon tree

pompon tree

I've decorated two 'trees' in the market on my weekly flowerday at Villa Augustus last Thursday.
One is very colorful and bright tree with fish, fruits, vegetabels, animals and even doll faces. I've posted a picture on Instagram this week [woodwoolstool]

This is the other one with paper pompons in pastel colors. They both are very different and actually no trees, but vintage bottle racks.
