A day trip to the mountains. Even before we leave Marrakech, we already can see the snowy Atlas peaks crystal clear afar. The road trip itself is already a treat. On the way we took a little break to visit the local market at the river Ourika. After a short bumpy ride we arrive at today's 'cool crochet hangout' with spectacular snow and sun view. But first a delicious lunch on the terrace overlooking the red valley.

After lunch we moved to a perfect spot by the pond, dressed in bikini, to start with the project of the day; a 'traditional' crochet cover for a suitcase size stool. A lot of chatter, lazing in the sun, tea and fun with crisp clear Atlas view!

snow snow snow

snow snow snow

Over the weekend we had our first snowfall of the season.

Everyone was so excited about the snow yesterday! Snow photos and videos everywhere on Instagram and blogs.

Snow days can mean two things, either you want to stay at home or you want to go outside and hear your footsteps in the snow.

Yesterday, I preferred the first option, but this afternoon we had more snow and I dressed warmly to go out and enjoy the cold and beautiful winter landscape. Snow proof with woolen sweater, beanie, scarf, mittens, boots and I borrowed Pippa's fake fur coat, it was great to play outside...

stadswerven

On Saturday we had snow showers throughout the day.

Sunshine and snow on Sunday! Perfect for an afternoon walk along the rivers of Dordrecht.

What a cool surprise after Christmas. All dressed for the cold, warm knitted sweater, woolen coat and wool-lined boots.

Today was a perfect day to wear my new woolen hat, I got from Pippa on Christmas Eve.

On the outermost tip of the city's shipyards (we had to crawl under fences), you have a beautiful view of Villa Augustus.

white afterchristmas

This morning we woke up in a white winter wonderland.

A white afterchristmas.

The bamboo in the backyard bent over the terrace and all the chairs covered with a snow pillow.

It's wonderful, even if it's probably only just for one day...

The newest wood & wool x-mas trees are sixteen* Suomi trees. I've made them today, while it was snowing! The handmade trees are now for sale in my Etsy shop.

Have fun hunting out a x-mas tree!

*please note; Espoo, Lahti, Salo, Joensuu & Kouvola are already sold and x-mas tree Lahti even goes to Finland!

2cv in hibernation

my 2cv in hibernation, originally uploaded by wood & wool stool.

This week I will drive my dear old 2 CV to the garage for a thorough inspection. Last summer I still drove a few times a week with my car to Villa Augustus, but it was sometimes quite a hassle to steer the car.

When winter came, I've hardly used the 2 CV and the hibernation has not improved the car's condition.

Some weeks ago, on a beautiful sunny day, I suddenly feel like driving in 'my ugly duckling' (another Dutch nickname). The car needed to be pushed by a few family members and neighbors to start and after a few laps in the parking lot, just drove merrily around.

The wheel is still not very flexible and there's a hole in the canvas roof that must be repaired. I hope that not too many mechanical problems arise during the inspection and I can continue touring around in my car. It's such a pleasure!
