spring fever in sunny february

spring in february spring in february spring in february

Henk brought me a huge bunch of yellow tulips from the market this morning.

The florist told him the Victorian interpretation of yellow tulips; there’s sunshine in your smile!

I have arranged the tulips in the big yellow mustard tin, which I bought on the berber market near the Atlas Mountains on my latest workshop trip in October.

On this sun-drenched Saturday in February it looks even more like spring.

The appreciation and joy in 'the little things' in life.

Cheers to the weekend!

vase d'amour

vase d'amour vase d'amour vase d'amour

Vase d'avril, but i call it vase d'amour for the occasion.

Last week in Paris, Henk surprised me with a very special wedding anniversary gift.
We visited the shop of Tsé & Tsé Associés in Paris and while i was looking around upstairs in the amazing shop, Henk bought my favorite vase.
It was an amazing surprise!

I've been working with the Vase d'Avril for almost ten years now, during my flowerdays at Villa Augustus.
During the years I've sold a lot of vases in the market shop and told the happy new owners it's a great investment, because you can create a tiny flowerfield with just a few flowers.
This morning I bought some tulips at the flowershop, where my daughter Pippa is working and she choose those pretty pastel pink tulips for me.

I think it looks amazing on the small table in our kitchen and I'm very happy with it. So precious!

the hallway table

yellow, pink & woodtulips in the hallwayhallway table

The hallway table.

As in all other places in the house, the composition of the hallway table changes regularly; a lamp, a vase, plates, prints or painting on the wall... (a large basket under the table with scarves and gloves for all family members during winter)

However, the yellow basket is always on the table and everybody throws in his or her keys, when entering the house.

season sensation

Cherry blossom on the kitchen table.

Petite Pippa in a frame and some lovely pink lingerie tulips I bought from Pippa (at the local flowershop) last Saturday. I love pink & yellow together!

That's why they are called 'lingerie tulips'...

Okay we may have had no 'winter experience' this year, but certainly a lifelike spring feeling!
