Some months ago we were at Anthropologie in London and this Booby bird looked me straight in the eyes.
Couldn't resist it's flirting and the bright colors of the lampshade!
Not exactly convenient, to bring a lampshade in your hand luggage, so we decided to ship this strange bird to the Netherlands.
Once at home, I found out it's a Booby bird from the Galapagos Islands.
The lamp has six different birds around, this is our favorite but sometimes we turn another bird to the front.
The lampshade is designed by Ashley Longshore and is called Archipelago Lampshade.
The [HoMe IS wHere The HeArt IS] sign is a gift, I made for a sweet colleague. The stones with holes we found last summer on the beach of Ile de Ré.
The jugs collection on the kitchen cabinet have a new orange member, which we bought last Saturday in Amsterdam.
Last Sunday we celebrated Henk's birthday throughout the island of Mallorca.
It was not just another day.
We ended our two-day visit in the North with a breakfast on the market square of Pollença, surrounded by the weekly Sunday market.
Packed our bags and drove through the village of Consell back to Palma. Every Sunday there's a brocante market just outside the village. What a shame we could not take home that vintage patio set.
We returned to Hotel Balanguera in Palma to check in for our last night on Mallorca and drove to the South to spend the afternoon on the wonderfull beach of Es Trenc. We had lunch on the beach overlooking the truly 'Caribbean' blue Mediterranean. Henk wished to dine once more in his favorite cantina, Patron Lunares, however the restaurant turned out to be closed on Sunday. We strolled through the narrow streets of Old Town Palma and found a tiny restaurant where we enjoyed perfect tapas!
Fiesta for my love, it surely was a birthday to remember!
Today we visited the biannual brocante of Maria & Lammie in Amsterdam.
It is always a joy to see the beautiful curiosities these ladies manage to collect during the year. Their highly original finds are displayed on two floors at the Sarphatipark and in the beautiful garden.
This time we 'picked' an orange jug, great cake plates, paper flowers and a yellow laundry basket.
Tomorrow and next weekend they are open! Come and see!
