Last year we fell in love with Ile de Ré and decided it's a perfect stopover during our road trip to the south of France.

The first two days of our summer holidays we drove around the island.

We enjoyed the scenery, the small towns, the boats, the sea, the typical French atmosphere, french songs on the radio (Une belle histoire to Papaoutai), visited brocantes and found some très très joli souvenirs and we thoroughly enjoyed the back to basic camp life.

A romantic start of our holidays and moreover few weeks at the Basque coast with the whole family ahead.

On the way to the French Basque coast, the two of us made a two day stop on Ile de Ré.

The children followed by airplane to Biarritz, because there was no room in the car for five people and all camping gear.
We had a small lead and decided to revisit Ré and it was so good to be back;
