a perfect day
One of the advantages of working at Villa Augustus (read often on weekends),
is enjoying the "weekend"
on a Tuesday afternoon,
on a sunny terrace in Antwerp,
with my sweetheart,
a pint, rosé and a few olives.
A perfect day.
painting & repainting
The plan to paint the taupe kitchen cabinet ocher seemed nice.
The ocher paint was already in the house for weeks (no time, no courage).
Last Friday, I thought, let's paint the cabinet now.
After an hour I noticed, it was not at all like I had imagined...
Pippa came home and confirmed my feeling quite convincingly.
Two days later I repainted the cabinet.
This time I was slightly less risky in terms of color.
Maybe boring but always good.
White.

[let love rule]
This week a friend tipped me;
Lenny is coming to Rotterdam!
I was completely unaware ...
and I'm so glad I got tickets for the concert!
My friend's husband is called Roel and she told me she always sings "let love Roel"
That's a good sign text, so I made her a small reward for the tip.
Yay, I'm looking forward to singing along with Lenny on October 17;
let love rule

juffrouw van zanten & de 7 rovers
Today we visited the book launch at the Walhalla theater.
Dorine de Vos, illustrated this wonderful children's picture book.
It's called; "Miss van Zanten and the seven robbers" and is written by Mathilde Stein. A funny story and there is much to see. You have to read it at least several times to see all details.
Tonight I read Pippa in the garden (that was long ago!) and we have both enjoyed it so much.
Long before I was a mother I had an addiction regarding children's books.
(with growing children that reduces)
Fortunately today we had a good reason to add this 'educational' and colorful picture book to the collection. Signed most delicious by the illustrator herself!
Here you can find more about the book and check out the interview with Dorine de Vos!
