eindhoven
Photo report of last weekend in Eindhoven.
After our friends wedding party at Het Ketelhuis on Saturday night, we stayed in the Student Hotel, on the 19th floor.
The morning after, we had a 'hangover breakfast' at the Coffeelab next to the hotel.
In the afternoon we had lunch at area Strijp and visited Radio Royaal, such an inspiring place!

handira kaftan
Handira is a traditional Moroccan wedding blanket. In the Berber language this wedding blanket is called Tamizart. Ten years ago these beautiful blankets were unknown beyond Morocco and affordable.
Nowadays it’s a whole different thing. Internationally the typical Handira is very popular in interior decoration and the demand for the vintage wedding blankets enormous. Except for being hard to find, the real vintage blankets now cost a small fortune!
On one of my walks in de Medina in May, this Handira kaftan caught my eye.
The carpet salesman noticed my hearteyes and said, try it on...
It was pretty hot at that time and the dress felt quite thick, warm and heavy. So I didn't try it on. Besides, when would I ever wear such a heavy, shiny dress?
But the dress certainly had my full attention!
I thought, well?... as a matter of fact, the handira kaftan as an art object on the wall, could be cool. (and should the opportunity arise, you can always wear it...)

occasional dress
Some dresses you only wear on special occasions. The dress I wear every few years.
The silk Fornarina dress is a bit over the top, but above all very elegant and feminine. It's almost vintage, because I already have it for many years. It popped up from my wardrobe, to be the party dress for the wedding party part two of our friends Marleen and Mick last Saturday.
The last time I was wearing it before, was when we visited the Theatre-Museum DalĂ in Fiqueres in July 2014.
And the previous occasion was in Paris, April 2009, see below the funny 'upskirt' picture, with mini Pippa in the background.

at the beach
Midsummer mini break at the beach.
We went for two days to our favorite beach in Domburg.
All the pastel colored beach huts in a row are stunning. They are all unique and some are painted by artists. (All photogenic haha...)
We decided to rent a beach hut for the days on the beach and got our pastel yellow hut next to the 'flamingo girls'. It was a perfect way to stay cool during the tropical midsummer days.
We brought our salades and drinks in a cool box and at sunset we had dinner with 'kibbeling' and cava in a plastic beach bucket filled with ice.
We stayed in a hotel in the center of Domburg (thanks Fred & Chris for this treat) and on Monday morning we went to our 'own' beach hut and we almost had the beach to ourselves.
This is one of the advantages of working on a Saturday; you have weekend on Sunday & Monday.

kimono
About the kimono, I was wearing at the wedding of our friends last Saturday.
I received a lot of questions about my kimono. I often get questions about my outfits, but this time it was quiet 'extreme'.
I bought the kimono a month ago as a wedding outfit at Anna + Nina.
I'm not a fashion blogger and my motto is; be a voice, not an echo...
After the wedding we went to Eindhoven for lunch and a drink and visited the ever-inspiring PHE factory.
