rotterdam citywalk
A photo report of the citywalk with our friends (Marieke, Marleen, Mick, Stefan and 'baby' Gandi) in Rotterdam last Sunday.
Slow start with coffee & chocolate cake in our 'Parisian' frontyard.
While we drove to Rotterdam, dark clouds appeared in front of us.
As soon as we arrived it started pooring. So we ran to shelter from the heavy rainstorm and had a drink at Aloha, not on the terrace as we planned...
After a while the heavy rain stopped and we decided to get started; citywalk with umbrella!
We crossed the river Maas via the Willemsbrug and walked accros the Noordereiland. (in the meantime our shoes were soaked!)
But hey, no complains about the weather guys.
We skipped the visit to Hotel New York and continued our walk via the Erasmus bridge to have lunch. When we arrived at Bazar, we even could sit outside on the terrace.
We had lentil soup (always) and lots of lovely food and after coffee we crossed the street to have a look at the cool vintage collection at Episode. I found an amazing kaftan dress from Thailand, didn't like the huge butterfly sleeves, but bought it anyway. Marleen found herself a cool nineties house blouse and the sun arrived!
En route to the Museumpark and the Maastunnel building. Along the quays of the Maas we walked back to the parking.
The 100 meter running track on the Maasboulevard was challenging. For me it was the first time to run in a kaftan and it was fun, but I didn't win... (despite the false start)
We had such a fun afternoon together!

kaftan mood
Kaftan mood.
I could wear kaftans all day every day, but I don't...
The printed photo on the wall is my all time favorite photo from Marrakech.
Streetart by Guim Tio Zarraluki, made during the Biennale in Marrakech 2014.
Have a look at this VIDEO, where you can see the artist at work.
(I've posted the video once before, but for those who have not seen it yet, it's worth watching!)
In the meantime the mural has disappeared from the wall in de Medina, but thank goodness we still have this print.
This shot with the passing man in perfectly toned traditional clothing, makes the mural even better.

summer project
The harlequin herringbone pattern.
My two favorite patterns meet each other in this handmade rug, also to be used as a blanket.
You can find the harlequin herringbone pattern with a lot of detailed photo's, so you can make your own harlequin herringbone rug or -blanket. It's a very nice project to work on, because you can make a harlequin a day and finally all the small daily projects, will end up as a rug or blanket.
You can download the P A T T E R N in my Etsy shop.

interior shoot at chambers d'amis
Last week I went for a mini-trip to my friend Ank in Marrakech and stayed in her amazing green and relaxed oasis in the middle of the Medina.
A short work-holiday, just between the CC & GG workshops, to shoot the interior of the hotel for the new website of Chambres d'Amis, which will be updated soon.
Besides shooting, styling and a 'flowerday' for a few days, I enjoyed immensely to be together with my dear friend & partner in crime Ank in Marrakech. Love this place!
Here's a small preview. Once the website is updated, I will let you know ...
