Bergamo - Palm Sunday 24th of March - 21697 steps
Bright blue sky on this beautiful Sunday morning. In Italy Easter begins on the last Sunday before Easter. On this Palm Sunday you see many Italians with palm or olive branches.
Coffee at Bar Perry on the charming square on Via Pignolo, before we climb to the highest point in Bergamo. Colle di San Vigilio, a lush and green hilly landscape. As we stand next to a blooming Mimosa tree and a wisteria sprouting, we look out at snow-capped mountain peaks of the the Bergamasque Alps (Alpi Orobie) in the distance.
True highlight of our long weekend, is la dolce vita lunch on the super charming terrace at Baretto di San Vigilio, il ristorante più romantico della città. A lunch to remember! Ma·gni·fi·ca·mén·te!
L'amore per le cose belle, Bergamo is excellent at that!
