marvelous moroccan moka at dar el bacha
Wednesday 13th of October - Dar el Bacha Marrakech
On the day of departure I invited my friend Fatiha for coffee & cake at Bacha Coffee.
A special memory! Thank you Fatiha for all the lovely conversations and taking care of the group during Marvelous Marrakech retreat.
You are a beautiful soul, sweet friend and an awesome hostess for Chambres d'Amis.
à la prochaine...
Bacha Coffee in the medina of Marrakech was built in 1910, in the spectacular Dar el Bacha palace, which means house of the Pasha.
This historical place united the greatest cultural and political minds of the century over glittering golden coffee pots of coffee of Arabia or Arabica, as it is known today. Guests included Colette, Maurice Ravel, Charlie Chaplin, Josephine Baker, Franklin Roosevelt and Winston Churchill, to name a few. After the Second World War the palace was closed and a few years ago Dar el Bacha was reopened as the Museum of Cultural Confluences.
You imagine yourself back in time, while pouring coffee from the golden pot.
