super stylish summer gilet - crochet pattern
SUMMER GILET crochet pattern
Hello May! I made this summer gilet last year. This time, however, not knitted but crocheted!
With this super cool & classy shoulder detail, just like the oversized knitted waistcoat, but with a different twist!
And I wouldn't be woodwoolstool if I didn't also write a summer gilet crochet pattern for you.
The gilet is a super stylish item for the upcoming season. You can wear it over a summer dress, but also over a t-shirt or tank top. Or go completely chic with an eye-catching belt.
This piece in your wardrobe is perfectly right when it's a little cooler and you don't need to wear a cardigan or jacket.
Do you need this summer gilet in your wardrobe?!
You can download the crochet pattern in my ETSY SHOP. The super stylish summer gilet crochet pattern is available in English and Dutch version, with easy to follow description, diagram, many photos and video.
For orders in the Netherlands you can also send an email to info@woodwoolstool.com and I will send you the PDF with the crochet pattern directly by email with a 'tikkie' of € 4,00.

random eat play love
More May
After our mini vacation we still had two more 'supervising Tuesdays' to catch up with Liam.
That turned out well, because we still owed it and Liam had chickenpox, so didn't go to daycare but came to play with us for an extra day. Fortunately, Liam had little trouble and quickly recovered completely after a day.
We also dined in the garden more often, with dinners prepared by Henk, with all the trimmings of course...
May is going well so far...

and on to may
May 2024
Once home we were fortunately able to 'land' slowly with lovely sunny spring weather. It really makes a difference of 10 full points if you return from holiday with sunshine.
We took full advantage of long-awaited sunny spring days enjoying our meals in the backyard as much as possible.
Outside everything brings more fun! The good green spring life has started.

lapad - summer in spring
Lapad - Tuesday 30th of April
Oh this week in Croatia was soooo much of a holiday!
And to think that we even planned to rebook our holiday a few days before departure due to the bad weather forecasts in our weather apps. Fortunately, we have not allowed ourselves to be fooled by the modern means of our time. Nevertheless we just went to Dubrovnik according to plan, because let's face it, in the past you didn't know in advance what the weather would be like and it changes day by day. We said to each other 20 times this week; Imagine if we had canceled this!
We had a more than fantastic week, our stay in the suburb of Lapad was a perfect choice. The Croatian coast surprised us with its natural beauty. And Dubrovnik is incredibly beautiful, no wonder it is often crowded because everyone wants to visit this ancient UNESCO World Heritage Site.
On the last day we flew back to Rotterdam only in the evening, so we still had a whole day to enjoy the sun, the sea and that nice summer feeling together.
Coffee at the Tenis Klub and another afternoon in Lapad bay. Henk made a daily drawing of my tennis court photo for our holiday book. We made another work of art from stones, things we found on the beach (little waste, the coast is remarkably clean here) and dried pine twigs. We seriously considered to bring the lovable face of our Lapad Figure home with us. Wouldn't look out of place on a table at home, hahaha...

cavtat & dubrovnik
Lapad, Cavtat & Dubrovnik - Monday 29th of April
In the morning we took a look at the remains of the brutalism of the neighbors. This place was hit during the war and the architect allowed it to only be rebuilt if it remained in the same style. Insanely beautiful building, view of the bay and garden!
After breakfast a mini road trip to Cavtat. It is the southernmost town and one of the oldest cities on the Dalmatian Coast and is located on a truly beautiful turquoise bay!
Two empty chairs waiting for us invitingly at the end of the bay and we had a wonderful afternoon with swimming among the little fish and a picnic lunch.
At the end of the afternoon we drove back to Lapad and then took the bus for our final dinner in Dubrovnik.
Magical dinner at restaurant Rudjer at Poljana Ruđera Boškovića Square, with a view of St. Ignatius Church, at top of Jesuit steps.
