karpathos - amoopi
Karpathos - 13th of September
Waking up to the light and occasionally the crowing of a rooster, otherwise you don't hear anything here. It has become a daily ritual, waking up early to the sunrise and enjoying it in silence. Before breakfast en morning swim, back to bed because it's still early and we're on holiday after all.
Today we headed for Amoopi, located in the southeast coastline of Karpathos. We had coffee at the beach tavern under the exuberantly blooming bougainvillea.
At Votsalakia beach, a small and cozy pebble beach with beautiful clear blue water, we rented two sundbeds under the old-school blue parasol. Reading, lazing around and we often had a dip in the sea. The water just has the right temperature here on Karpathos.
Seafood lunch with a view at Restaurant Calypso, a real greek restaurant with fresh food, blue chairs and cute details. After lunch a nap on the beach, those are the best!
On the way back home we did some grocery shopping. Always fun to visit the supermarkets abroad, with nice packaging and local delicacies.
Out for dInner in town. We chose a table with typical greek paper tablecloth at "To Kyma" located closest to the port of Pigadia, a real and traditional fish restaurant. Brilliant & romantic.
