Lundi lunch.

Find magic in the little things.

Brewing coffee with an old-fashioned percolator for instance.

winter vegetables

winter vegetables

We like to eat seasonally.

Tonight on the menu; roasted winter vegetables.

Super simple, healthy, tasty and easy to make with everything from the vegetable drawer.

Chioccia- and yellow beets, chicory, red onions and a mini cauliflower.

A colorful composition of sliced vegetables, before they go into the oven. Feast for the eyes.

Preheat the oven to 220 degrees Celsius. Place the various vegetables in the oven dish. Mix some olive oil with garlic, pepper, salt and herbs and drizzle the oil mixture over the vegetables.

Place the dish in the middle of the oven and roast the vegetables for about 15-20 minutes.

A delicious basic dish that you can actually combine with anything.

straw field

hay hay hay wheat wheat

August.
Summer evening.
Straw field.
Instant summer vibe.

I always get this ultimate summer feeling between the straw rolls during the summer holidays abroad.

Yet the same vibe only a few minutes from home, even with square straw blocks, this evening...

captivating corner

captivating corner

While I am washing my hands, my eye catches the natural colors of the simple utensils and the light, in the corner of the sink.

I'm very visual and can be overwhelmed by a feeling of bliss all of a sudden, by the appeal of 'something simple'.

Our kitchen, an easy, real life space with stuff collected over time.
Kitchen utensils with functionality and personality;
The simplicity of two cutting boards against the kitchen wall.
A small twig, in a soda bottle, because it was just too small to join the magnolia bouquet.
and the shades of the tiles, which seem to change every moment of the day...

and I realise, I'm glad to enjoy the simple things.
(even though it is sometimes exhausting to see 'everything' and to capture the moment afterwards with my camera, haha..)

Like the oblong diamond pillow, this pillow has two pretty sides too.
This is the harlequin pillow flipped over...

shine bright like a diamond

My first handmade project of 2013 is quite cool.

The oblong pillow project is finished and the pillow is reversible and equally beautiful on both sides.

It's bright and shines like a diamond in the living room.

fermobism

fermobisme by wood & wool stool
fermobisme, a photo by wood & wool stool on Flickr.
The old white wooden garden bench moved to the front yard recently.
That's a very good reason to order a new Fermob bench for the garden.
What colour?
It's difficult to choose.
The names of all those colours are as pretty as the colors themselves.
We already have a Carrot chair, Savanna and Willow Green loungers.
It actually is pretty in every single colour I think.
We picked Peony Pink.
Oh, it is so pretty! (I'm a Fermob fan at heart)
The bench may stay indoors for a few days,
before it will be our new backyard bench.

wood & wool stool headquarters

There was the office in the attic (with pc)
and the office under the stairs (with everything else).

Those two offices have finally merged into one;

with a fresh clear desk (including Angelic corner)
with a wall of the finest wood (collected through the years)
with a brand new Hee Hay lounge chair (suitable for indoor and outdoor crochet)

I proudly present the new 'wood and wool stool headquarters'
