Last Sunday we celebrated Henk's birthday throughout the island of Mallorca. It was not just another day.

We ended our two-day visit in the North with a breakfast on the market square of Pollença, surrounded by the weekly Sunday market. Packed our bags and drove through the village of Consell back to Palma. Every Sunday there's a brocante market just outside the village. What a shame we could not take home that vintage patio set.

We returned to Hotel Balanguera in Palma to check in for our last night on Mallorca and drove to the South to spend the afternoon on the wonderfull beach of Es Trenc. We had lunch on the beach overlooking the truly 'Caribbean' blue Mediterranean. Henk wished to dine once more in his favorite cantina, Patron Lunares, however the restaurant turned out to be closed on Sunday. We strolled through the narrow streets of Old Town Palma and found a tiny restaurant where we enjoyed perfect tapas!

Fiesta for my love, it surely was a birthday to remember!

La Balanguera is the official anthem of the Balearic island of Mallorca.

In our search for a nice hotel (some weeks ago) we found this special design hotel and didn't hesitate to book a room. The first two nights and the last night of our holiday we stayed at this great hotel in Palma. The building itself is strikingly beautiful and the rounded walls are also everywhere inside the building and give the city hotel a Mediterranean island atmosphere. Such a relaxing place to stay, we enjoyed every minute of it. Recomendado!
