striped baby blanket - crochet pattern

A brandnew baby blanket for Liam-Novi.

He just loves to sleep in his cozy bamboo crib under a blanket when he's with us.

You know I made quite some baby blankets in my woodwoolstool career, but making a blanket for your own grandchild is something completely different.

Liam loves colors and so do I, so that's a good thing.

Last year I made a similar blanket for his baby room when Pippa was pregnant. This striped baby blanket is square and an updated version and not the same crochet pattern as the natural baby blanket. It's a perfect crochet project to use up yarn leftovers.

striped curtain

Spicy stripes for the curtain in the dormer window on our sloping attic room.

A good crochet project to use the colored wool from marrakech, in very easy filet-crochet harlequin pattern. I started it some weeks ago, not knowing what it would be.

Well, in the end it's a 'crocheted curtain anno 2019' and obviously it was not exactly fitting the window size. Do you see the subtle line? I subsequently made it a little bit longer. That's what I like about handmade; never perfect...

The colorful crochet fabric is made horizontal, but I preferred to hang it vertically.

In our (almost) all-white attic bedroom it's okay to use some colour.
I am thrilled with how serene this space turned out with the filtered light. Great atmosphere!

costa nova

Roadtrip Portugal 2016.

On our way from Aveiro to Coimbra we planned a beachday in Costa Nova. It's a colourful village with lots of striped houses in various bright colours. We knew this amazing place from our camper trip in 2009 and actually nothing changed since than.

Socks in heels. Stipes on stripes. I like it a lot, those unusual combinations.

The red shoes are already ten years old and I hardly wear them, since the sneakers made their entry in my shoe collection.
Every now and then I bring them out of the shoe rack.

This weekend I started to read The Year of the Runaways.
The English translation of a novel by Sunjeev Sahota.
I received the book from India in the mail last week.
Just a few months ago I got a request from Bhavi Mehta to use my [red suitcase] photo from London for the cover of the book.
She said the picture is just right for the story.
I like those unexpected surprising twists.

dress code: hodgepodge

I like to dress in layers and wear a hodgepodge of styles.
A tartan skirt, denim, stripes, woolen cardigan, multicolored beanie and boots with socks.
I don't care if it doesn't actually goes together.
Everything is possible, as long as you like it.
