lisboa

Roadtrip Portugal 2016.

When we planned our roadtrip last winter, we knew it had to end in Lisbon. We have been 4 times in Lisbon during the last 20 years and last year we truely fell in love with Lisboa.

Six days and nights we stayed in our favourite appartment in Baixa House. Surprise, surprise, we even met our niece Safi. Couldn't be better.
On our first evening we had drinks at the rio Tejo and the next morning breakfast together, before Safi went back home.

It's so cool when you know you have plenty of time to enjoy the city and don't have to do 'everything' in just a few days. We both love the city-life and walked for hours from 'quiosque' to 'miradouro' to 'jardim' to terrace for another 'imperial' or espresso with pastel de nata.

plants & plates

The spider plant - chlorophytum comosum - has never really been away, because it's so easy to maintain and multiply.

One of the most interesting points of the spider plant is its ability to rapidly propagate itself. A spider baby from the mother plant will often root and within a year it's producing babies of its own, you can give out to your family and friends.

I've send a couple of spider babies to my niece in London and I hope they will survice the journey.

The small green harlequin pot I brought from Anthropogie in Londen and the leafs plate I found at Portazul in The Hague.

Laundry day in Sesimbra. Exactly one month ago during our roadtrip in Portugal.
Sesimbra is not only about cheerful laundry on the washing line, also lots of lovely street art, beautiful tiles and fresh fish.
It's been a month ago and we miss a vida portuguesa.
