On my bedside table;
Picasso, Friends & Family by Edward Quinn. It's a A charming and surprising portrait of Picasso's everyday life in postwar France. We went to see the photo exhibition in Malaga last June. The book just came out and it was a surprise for my birthday from Henk.

Friday afternoon we picked up Liam from daycare and he stayed with us for dinner. Reading books in the attic room after the bath. Liam loves the children's books that I have read countless times to Minne & Pippa.

Sushi Saturday at our friends in Bussum. All made by Marieke. It was a proper sushi party, including mikodo play with Loïs.

For Naïma.

Yesterday my dear colleague Naima celebrated her birthday.
She's from Morocco and her favorite color is 'majorelle blue'.
So I've painted a terracotta flowerpot with blue paint from Jardin Majorelle.
(The paint was a gift from my friend Rosa, she bought it for me when we visited Jardin Majorelle in October.)

...and she was overjoyed with the blue surprise!

doris, born on the 4th of july

Today is a day of celebration, because it's the 4th of July and Doris is celebrating her thirteenth birthday!

The stool is a surprise for Doris. She is the eldest daughter of my friend Rosa. This morning her mother Rosa came to pick up her birthday stool.

Rosa will put it secretely in the bedroom of Doris, so she will find it beside her bed when she comes home from school. So sweet...

The vintage bamboo 'sunshine' mirror we found some weeks ago at the 'vide-grenier' in Labenne Ocean. A lovely summer holiday souvenir and what could be more appropriate?
