psychedelic pillow

handmade woodwoolstool chevron pillow

Another unfinished project done.

The first stitches of this pillow I made last month and in the meantime I have made a mini collection of fingerless mittens.
This multicolored chevron pillow including innerpillow is now available in my ETSY SHOP.

The cushion has two different sides; the front side with multicolored (dark brown, rusty brown, orange brown, royal blue, lilac, dusty pink and ocher yellow, bright yellow, red, burgundy red, sand, turquoise and off white) chevron stripes and the back side in off white.

Would you rather make one yourself?
You can download the chevron pillow pattern in my ETSY SHOP too.

View from the bamboo daybed. And another day at home.
I’m feeling pretty good right now and I discovered during the last 'quarantine months', I can be a house sparrow, as we say in the Netherlands.
I don't mind to spend a lot of time at home. I also realize I have variety to go to work 3 times a week, no doubt that makes a lot of difference!

slashes

woodwoolstool pillow rotterdam january 2019

You can look anywhere and find inspiration. (Frank Gehry)

...and sometimes the inspiration for the backside of a handmade harlequin pillow comes from a parking.

At the moment I was preparing this post, the harlequin/striped pillow was still for sale in my Etsy shop. In the meantime it's sold! (wanted to share my inspiration for the slashes anyway...)

green & pink

chevron pillow pattern - green & pink

With green & pink you can't go wrong. Those two colors compliment each other really nicely.

Actually this is the prototype of my latest chevron pillow design. I started to make this one before the two multicolored chevron pillows.
While I was working on this green & pink project, I imagined the chevron pattern would look cool with lots of colors too. And eventually I finished the multicolored ones first.

Last week I finally finished the green & pastel pink pillow... (well as a matter of fact I simply had to stitch the seams)

Using only two colors, this green & pink pillow is quite a bit easier to make, also for beginners.

You can download the CHEVRON PILLOW PATTERN in my Etsy shop.

workspace

workspace workspace workspace workspace workspace workspace workspace workspace workspace

A workplace is a place that feeds your imagination. Creating a 'perfect' studio won't happen overnight, it's a growing process and that's how it should be.

A few weeks ago we started creating a studio in Pippa's old bedroom. The idea was to create something new with nothing new.

Enough stuff in da house to redecorate this workspace, nothing new, no purchases, but furnished with items that were stored in the attic.

My wool stock (previously spread throughout the house), moroccan rugs, personal souvenirs, books, my home office (which started taking over half the kitchen table), vintage letters, stools (in all possible variations), etc etc...

Oh wait, something comes to mind...Correction, there is something new. Some new 40x60 cm photo frames. I printed my favorite photographs from Marrakech (and a few from Sicily).

Obviously I will often work at the kitchen table, but in that case I only need my laptop. It's really great to have 'everything together' in one place. I am full of ideas and love to work (or just be) in my new studio. The place still has to 'grow', anyway the good vibe is already there.
