It's March, hallelujah!

Sunshine all week from Sunday to Sunday.

Sunday 2nd - coffee in the frontyard and this year's gardening premiere. In the evening we went to see the film Parthenope by Sorrentino.
Monday 3rd - workday with a visit of Minne & Liam.
Tuesday 4th - bike tour with Minne & Liam, including Liam's first stadium visit, first ice cream at La Venezia and playing outside
Wednesday 5th - to Rotterdam with Henk
Thursday 6th - flowerday at Villa Augustus and Pippa & Liam came by because it's terrace weather! After dinner we had a colossal classical evening in De Doelen in Rotterdam. Verdi's Requiem by Lorenzo Viotti, with a big orchestra, an enormous choir, and four soloists, it was so enormous and dramatic.
Friday 7th - work work
Saturday 8th - visit of my dear friend Marieke & family with lots of fun in the backyard.
Sunday 9th - simply enjoy the outdoors again!

backyard vibes

backyard vibes backyard vibes

Backyard vibes.

New 'kiss-me-over-the-garden-gate' baby plants on the bench. I love the name of the plant and it is a very fast-growing annual that self-seeds in the fall. Once you’ve planted it, you’re likely to have the flower in that spot for years to come. While the plant can grow up to two meters high, it rarely, if ever, needs to be staked. They are seedlings from the Villa Augustus garden, where they returned a bit too abundantly.

And we've finally found a convivial parasol to replace the ripped Shady Lace umbrella, which broke down last summer after 13 years.

This May has been so good so far...

We already had quiet some breakfasts, lunches and dinners in the backyard. It feels like summer.

city canvas

In between the christmas celebrations we made a city walk in Breda yesterday afternoon.
We had to go out with an umbrella on Christmas Day, but this time with sunglasses.

En route to a hot drink on the atmospheric city square, we came across heaps of colorful street art.

Colorful city canvas, I'm a fan! The murals by Ilse Weisfelt on the first photos are my favorite.

I hope you all had a Merry Christmas, whatever you have done...

And today we continue celebrating Christmas with a home dinner and sleepovers with family.

no winter wonderland

christmas walk christmas walk christmas walk christmas walk

No white winter wonderland this Christmas overhere.
It's windy and drizzling, but hey, let's go outside anyway...

A morning walk in the countryside, only 20:17 minutes I guess, but it was lovely to get some fresh air, despite the weather.

Not everyone is an outdoor person, but nobody is an indoor person.
Because every time you've been outside for a while, you feel a bit better inside.

Merry Christmas everyone! ... and try to go outside, if only for a short while.
