Karpathos - 12th of September

After breakfast with greek yoghurt & honey and a few short laps in the pool, we left for the most beautiful beach of the island. Let's start with something special right away!

Well it's a bit of a drive through mountains with precipices, but then you arrive at a wonderful bay. The view from above is breathtaking. Crystal clear sea water and the green of the coniferous forest provide a spectacular contrast. Just climb along the rock walls to reach the beach and you are surrounded by nothing but nature!

We had lunch at the beach tavern in the mountains above the bay. We decided to let the chef surprise us with his cooking skills and were treated to grilled squid and a delicious vegetable stew.

On the way back we stopped at Aperi and drove right past the inviting turquoise colored facade of a charming taverna. Let's have a drink! Henk ordered an ice cold Fix Hellas and i felt like a frappe.

This summer I rediscovered iced coffee and I have to admit that the honey iced coffee, that my colleague Bob serves ranks higher. However sitting on the veranda of this turquoise tavern in the mountains, made my 'Aperi frappe' simply perfect!

Another half hour drive, accompanied by old-school music in the CD player, and we were back home in our villa to chill by the pool during sunset.

Wherefore we didn't feel like going anywhere else but this magical place and had dinner at home. Yamas! to greek island life.
