oodles of palms

Oodles of palms.

When it comes to collecting, I'm sure I'm guilty of it.

Lately I noticed that there are pretty much palm trees in the house, yet unobtrusive many palm trees. At least that's my opinion.

What is too much?

To me it feels organically grown over time, through travel, special souvenirs, handmade items, clothing and gifts from friends that know your 'palmtree passion'.

I arranged my ‘palm objects’ in a tiny palmtree photo report. And I have to admit I couldn't find so quickly photos of the metal moroccan palmtree hanger in the bedroom and the palmtree frisbee in the living and...

palmtree sweater

N E W in the Etsy shop: KNITTED PALMTREE SWEATER PATTERN

A super easy to follow pattern, even for beginner knitters.

This knitted palmtree sweater is knitted in one piece. The sweater is reversible and has no seems on the shoulder. Both sides have a different look.

For the palmtree sweater I've used an oatmeal tweed yarn, from the Dutch textile super brand Zeeman (one of my favorite yarns). It's machine washable, super soft and comfortable to wear. Yesterday evening I was wearing my palmtree sweater for the first time.

The perfect end-of-summer-sweater, but hey you can wear it all year round!

You can download the KNITTED PALMTREE SWEATER PATTERN in my Etsy shop. Available in English and Dutch version.

palmtree pattern

cool crochet project

A new cool crochet summer project.

You can download the PALMTREE PATTERN in my Etsy shop.

The palmtree pattern I've designed, is made in filet crochet and you can it use as a curtain (back to the seventies) or as a wall hanging.

I've made it with a unbleached cotton, but you can also use any another yarn.

An early morning visit to Jardin Majorelle, to enjoy the beautiful garden and birdsongs, before the invasion of the tourists. As soon as it gets busier, we find a quiet spot on the sunny terrace of Café Majorelle for coffee, cookies and crochet class.

Before noon we move on to the desert to have lunch at La Pause and stay there until sunset. Chillin' and bikini top crochet class on the program.
The wide view of the desert hills was a completely different sight this time. Definitely not the first thing you have in mind when you think of a desert landscape....

Due to the unusual amount of rain in Morocco in the last few months, the desert was covered with a green layer. A beautiful sight, especially with the snow-covered Atlas mountain peaks in the background. And of course it's great for nature and agriculture, they got a necessary portion of rain and the people in Morocco are grateful for it!

palme d’or

palme d’or palme d’or

To ignore the freezing cold outside, I went for a golden palm this morning...
(after my weekly run; unfeasible! despite wearing double running trousers and thermo shirts, woolen gloves and a beanie)

A chic version of the palm I made last week, the c c p p, that is to say cool crochet palmtree pattern or cool crochet petit projet

Still a bit of testing for the cool crochet workshop, which is coming up in April.

and moreover

cool crochet petit projet

I'm working on some crochet projects & patterns for the cool crochet workshop in April.

Every day a new project, a new crochet technique and a new place to explore in Marrakech.

I drew a palm tree on graph paper, slightly smaller than the palmtree I designed last year. Remember this one?

Simply because it's nice to finish a small daily project, so we have a lots of time for other pursuits, such as having a delicious Moroccan lunch, enjoy the surroundings and relax.

This afternoon I nestled myself with hook and yarn on the daybed, to check how long it takes to make this project. Well piece of cake, the cute palmtree is cool crochet project approved.
