get up and go

get up and go

Spring has sprung! Yippee!

The change of season, also means change of wardrobe.
At the moment I've started unpacking my spring-summer collection from the attic, for the upcoming trip to Marrakech.
No doubt I will bring my kaftans in my suitcase to Marrakech. Some cardigans and sweaters, in case it cools down a bit in the evenings.

What to wear in the in-between-season?
Will it be cold, warm or somewhere in-between?
For heaven's sake, what do you wear when transitioning from season to season?
Right now, it can be a really confusing time to get dressed in the morning.
This week, I started wearing a woolen beanie on my way to work on my bike in the morning. Somewhere around lunchtime you can easily sit outside in the sun, wearing a cardigan.

My advice and solution; layer up with pops of color, to keep your in-between outfit bright.

I have found this nice snug sweater, not too thick and more comfortable than a woolen sweater.
Love the fresh and unusual color combination (exactly as the beanie) and that 'get up and go' attitude!
... and the palm by all means fits completely in my 'palm tree period'.

the prototype

the wood & wool stool prototype the wood & wool stool prototype the wood & wool stool prototype

The very first wood & wool stool dressed up in a new summer outfit.

This stool I made years ago and it is not for sale, it's the prototype of the wood & wool stool, made with a piece of driftwood I once found on the beach in Greece.

The bright blue is my favorite blue, actually it's the same as our bedhead, made from two beach cabin doors.

Love to re-use old pieces of wood!

beside the banana tree

among the banana tree among the banana tree among the banana tree among the banana tree among the banana tree

I love spring changes in the house. Brighten up the space!

The old grey sorting cabinet on my desk moved to the attic for the time being.
It's a piece of furniture you can easily stuff with everything, you don't know where to put. So this happened all the time, everyone in the house is putting things in those 'sorting boxes'; keys, sunglasses, postcards, receipts, half a dozen chargers, scissors, but most of all 'things that absolutely must not get lost'

It was about time to tidy up my desk and get rid of the 'unnecessary' and I obviously moved a lot of stuff to other cabinets and drawers, but at least my desk is not a stockroom any longer.

The banana plant, that has awakened from its hibernation in the attic, has taken place on my desk.

It feels good, working beside a banana tree!

Honestly, I like everything is back to normal.

We went to London to celebrate the Bright Bazaar Book launch party last April.

Will Taylor and Andrew M Boyd visited us for a photoshoot last year and we are very proud our house is published in Will Taylor‘s Bright Bazaar book!

The inspriring book is all about colour and #makeyousmilestyle and on the above pages the colours of our house are represented.

It's a delightful book, with 191 pages full of color and inspiration.

You can buy the book here and here.
