the book is always better

Yesterday I got the new book by Dottie Angel and Rachelle Blondel as a present. Thank you! It's beautiful! Each and every page is granny chic and a joy to see and read.
The book is about crafty recipes & inspiration for the handmade home and lovely photography by Catherine Gratwicke.

And remember to take this good advice;
do feel a little crafty at least twice a day

dottie angel day

dottie angel day by wood & wool stool
dottie angel day, a photo by wood & wool stool on Flickr.

Today the postman
brought something special,
thé Dottie Angel book!
My heart was beating faster,
when opening the envelope
reading the super sweet note from Tif...
Long awaited,
and at last I can hold it myself
and browse
and view
and read.
Within a glance, I recognize Tif in every tiny detail;
it's beyond 'perfectly peachy'

Today is officially
dottie-angel-day
and I'm gonna settle on the couch
to enjoy every single page!

aujourd'hui printemps

aujourd'hui printemps, originally uploaded by wood & wool stool.

On my desk:

Dottie Angel notebooks
and she's standing next to a wood & wool stool :) on the cover.

Recycled wool,
bits and pieces of yarn
that are no longer used and knotted together.
Not in order to save material,
just because I like it so much.

A postcard from Barcelona, received from Henk & Minne.
The colored laundry makes me cheerful.

And right in the middle
a vintage desk calendar,
in French,
which makes it even more chic.
It's not fully automatic
but by pushing the black button
a new day will begin.

jackets on the hook

jackets on the hook, originally uploaded by wood & wool stool.

My anthropologie jacket is my favorite. No doubt! It was love at first sight. About the white dots & roses jacket I'm not fully convinced yet.

Doubt is never a good sign. The jacket is within the 'keep or return?' phase and I can still bring it back, so I ask you to give an honest Trinny & Susannah opinion.

I'm wondering wether I'm the only one having this 'problem' or it's just typical female insecurity.

happiness on a hook

happiness on a hook, originally uploaded by wood & wool stool.

A cheerfully decorated and colored envelope fell through the letterbox this morning, or rather there was a small party on the doormat.

The packaging was a gift itself and almost a shame to unpack this work of art and when I unwrapped the paper, the happy hanger appeared.

Yay, it's peachy perfect to speak in terms of Dottie Angel. Thank you Tif, you're such a sweetheart!

global happy hangers exchange

When I discovered Dottie Angels happy hangers last week, I went straight to her Etsy shop to buy one. Not even one hangers in the shop so I wrote Tif a little note about it and she replied and suggested to exchange happy hangers!

What a wonderful swap idea. So currently two happy hangers are passing eachother somewhere above the ocean.

Imagine this pretty orange & pink happy hanger will soon be mine and this wood & wool hanger in the pattern of Dottie Angel's first stool is shipped with some small bird whistles to my dear friend. (unfortunately the windup jumping hare did not fit in the envelope Tif, but I promise to send it to you next time)

soul sister stools

soul sister stools, originally uploaded by wood & wool stool.

Some time ago I received a request from Tif to make two more stools to join her others. She asked for two similar stools with a beautifully detailed description, including little orange border.

In her blog Dottie Angel (we're talking about a blog far beyond blogging) already confessed her addiction and even called herself a stoolaholic.

I felt a little embarrassed, for Tif had to wait quite a few weeks already, because of the 'huge' amount of orders I received recently.

While reading the post about her addiction I wrote a comment, to reassure Tif I was actually working on her covers and stools and they soon would arrive at the Mossy Shed.

Than something angelic happened. Tif asked me to send one stool to her best friend Debbie in the UK and the other one to the US, with the following statement; so they both have matching stools beside them as they crochet in the evenings, separated by miles and miles.

After nearly 30 years of being soul sisters, that's definitely a grand way to celebrate their lasting friendship and it's an incredibly sweet gesture of this angel!
