La Balanguera is the official anthem of the Balearic island of Mallorca.

In our search for a nice hotel (some weeks ago) we found this special design hotel and didn't hesitate to book a room. The first two nights and the last night of our holiday we stayed at this great hotel in Palma. The building itself is strikingly beautiful and the rounded walls are also everywhere inside the building and give the city hotel a Mediterranean island atmosphere. Such a relaxing place to stay, we enjoyed every minute of it. Recomendado!

the exchange

the exchange by wood & wool stool
the exchange , a photo by wood & wool stool on Flickr.

In December I got a sweet nice little 'X' envelope under the x-mas tree.
For one night in the brand new hotel in Amsterdam.
(some kind of sister of our favorite Lloyd hotel); The Exchange
(and how romantic, booked for our first date anniversary)

So we stayed here last weekend in a room overlooking the busiest street in Amsterdam, with a great view at the Beurs van Berlage building.

The hotel is very surprising and the neighboring Stock restaurant and superfine Options! store, go wonderfully together.

It was so nice and a more detailed post with photos will be exchanged.
(but now I'm too tired)

Good night.

hotel label collection

hotel label collection

I love hotels that have something unique.
I'm not talking about stars.
Entering the room and feeling at home.
I don't mind to pay a little more to stay in a good mood room.
A cool hotel room is worth a lot to me.
I think a neat hotel makes your city trip complete.
Not only abroad but also as a 'break' in the Netherlands.
Stay overnight for just one night with good food and breakfast for me is like a mini-vacation.

Here are some of the favorite places I've stayed!
(in random order)

1. Michelberger - Berlin www.michelbergerhotel.com/
2. Lloyd hotel - Amsterdam www.lloydhotel.com/
3. Villa Augustus - Dordrecht www.villa-augustus.nl/new/index-flash.html
4. Mama Shelter - Paris www.mamashelter.com/
5. The Praktik - Barcelona www.praktikhotels.com/
6. Story Hotel - Stockholm www.storyhotels.com/
7. Hotel New York - Rotterdam www.hotelnewyork.nl/index.php/nl/home
8. Boulevard Leopold - Antwerp www.boulevard-leopold.be/
9. Tentenhotel Les Ormes - Villeréal campinglesormes.com/
10. Hotel Bazar - Rotterdam www.hotelbazar.nl/

It may be obvious, such lovely hotels happen to have funny 'do not disturb labels'. Here's my hotel label collection.

best of berlin [michelberger hotel]

We stayed in the Michelberger Hotel and enjoyed every second of it!

"Das Michelberger" is a hotel for everyone,
except: south Germans, English and Irish,
from a number greater than 5,
or in Superman suits.
and except those asking;
When do you finish the floors and walls?
