handmade moroccan beanies

It's November. Beanie season has started!

Traditionally I brought a new beanie collection for you from Morocco. Striped, uni or with a harlequin pattern, all unique and one size. The soft and warm beanies are very comfortable to wear and won't ruin your hairstyle.

Would you like to wear a beanie this season? Just have a look in my ETSY SHOP, choose your favorite one and support Aisha. The unique moroccan beanies are all handmade in moroccan crochet style by Aisha from Marrakech & crafters from Essaouira.

This season I found some new models, slightly shorter than the regular beanies. Below an example of the Moroccan beanie new style.

Chefchaouen or Chaouen called by the Moroccans.

Another nick name is The Blue pearl, due to all the (indigo) blue houses.

One thing is certain, you expect a city with blue houses, but you will be amazed how blue Chefchaouen truly is.

Every building in the city is coated up to six time a year in thick blue paint. The shades of blue are multiple hues of aquamarine, indigo and cobalt.

The blue is said to symbolize the sky and heaven, and serve as a reminder to lead a spiritual life. Another popular theory is that the blue keeps mosquitos away.

Chaouen is about one of the most photogenic places I know and my favorite color isn't even blue...

broom branch & cotton caftan

black striped kaftan black striped kaftan

A handmade broom from my last visit to Yves' garden in Marrakech.

Way too big to stick in my herbarium, during the Green Gardens workshop.

The dried date palm branch, is still used everywhere in Marrakech to sweep the streets.
Although it is not a practical object to bring home in your suitcase, I did it anyway.
The broom was twice as thick, but I left half of it with my dear friend Ank at Chambres d'Amis in Marrakech.
My half is a cool decoration in the hallway and sometimes I even use it to remove the leaves, that sneak in through the front door in the hallway.

I also brought some kaftans from Morocco last October, for those who need a kaftan in their lives...

The black striped cotton kaftan on the coat rack, is for sale in my S H O P (the last ones)
During the colder months, it's comfortable to wear at home and perfect stylish loungewear after a bath or shower.

kaftan mood

kaftan mood

In the Sixties, fashionista Diana Vreeland 'discovered' kaftans during a trip to Morocco.

The ones who know me, know that I could wear kaftans all day every day...

A kaftan in summertime creates comfort, ease in the heat, and very much a sense of grace.

Also after summer, a kaftan is the perfect stylish loungewear after a bath or shower.
Just chuck it over your head...

I brought some kaftans from Morocco, for those who need a kaftan in their lives...

Have a look in my SHOP.

superbly styled without trying

veggies & colours

A touch of tranquility and pureness in the middle of busy Marrakech.

This is what i love about the Medina...

Moroccan hues.
Colorful vegetables in the street.
A vegetable stall made with crates, in perfect color combinations.

Everything about this is beautiful.

I came across this iPhone photo* this morning, while i was cleaning out my phone storage.

Welcome for a peek at my friend Ank's store in Amsterdam, we visited last Sunday.

Ank imports tiles, glassware, tableware, furniture, plastic carpets and much more cool stuff from Morocco.

For all who can't go to Morocco, however like a fine Moroccan atmosphere at home, there is a possibility to shop in the souk webshop of Household Hardware.
