My harlequin pillow design turns out to be a hit. I make more pillows than stools lately.
Well they are cuddly and cool and I really do make them with pleasure.

boogie woolie

boogie wooliewood & wool

Have to admit it's ten times more fun to crochet in a sunny backyard, however I'm not complaining about my lazy rainy friday at home.

B is for brightening and lady-with-cherries-print is by Larissa Bertonasco and makes me cheerful anyway. The soft pastel colored harlequins are for an equally joyful pillow-fan.

Enjoy the weekend, whatever it may bring...

rattan returned

wood & wool harlequin pillow 002

Who doesn't love the vintage rattan chair?
My grandparents used to have a set on their veranda, a sofa, some chairs and a table with glass top. As a child I played as if it was my house, if I stayed with them.
Years ago I found, two chairs at the thrift store, one small and one large. Meant for the garden, but I had quickly realized that they would only live shortly outside. Mostly they are stored in the attic.
A few days ago I 'found' them again and the larger one returned in the living room, with on it's lap a brightly colored handmade harlequin pillow.

growing harlequins

growing harlequins

Parallel projects (I like that) I am currently working on. Growing harlequins in bright and pastel colors. I'm making some new harlequin pillows. They will be soon in the shop.

surprising & harlequin

surprising & harlequin

The garden chair hibernates in the attic.
I can hardly wait until we both have moved to the garden again.

shine bright like a diamond

My first handmade project of 2013 is quite cool.

The oblong pillow project is finished and the pillow is reversible and equally beautiful on both sides.

It's bright and shines like a diamond in the living room.

do sit down

do sit down, a photo by wood & wool stool on Flickr.

Once this old chair was green.
After a long time in the garden, the paint was peeling off.
For the time being the seat is unpainted, slightly sanded and stamped.
Until we have figured a new color...

Meanwhile, this is the status of the oblong pillow project.

oblong pillow project

I am very pleased with the pillow p♦r♦o♦j♦e♦c♦t so far.
The pillow cover is growing slowly, diamond by diamond.
Two more 'rows' to go, then the handmade oblong pillow cover is finished (at least one side of the pillow)
I like it so much already and it's wonderful to design something new.
I don't have a ♦ crochet pattern, but I figured it out myself.
The wool gets kind of knotty and I can not watch a movie and crochet ♦ at the same time (yet).

p♦r♦o♦j♦e♦c♦t pillow

It is not a tapestry,
it's my project from a distance.
I pinned the wool to the wood for a while.
Now I know what it will be...
(new projects often start this way) to be continued...
