local saturday market

saturday saturday saturday saturday saturday saturday saturday saturday

Saturday morning.

An early visit to the local market for fresh vegetables and flowers.

We chose anemones for the kitchen table.
Ingredients for tonight's tajine; carrots, fennel, sweet colored peppers, potatoes, snow peas, garlic olives, a preserved salted lemon and chicken.
Fresh figs and chocolate for dessert.

Today Dietske, owner of the coolest house in Amsterdam East, will visit us. She is a sweetheart, whom I met in May as a participant of the Green Gardens workshop in Marrakech. We obviously cook a proper moroccan meal for her. Tajine is already simmering on the stove...

summer dinner

summer dinnersummer dinnersummer dinnersummer dinnersummer dinnersummer dinnersummer dinnersummer dinnersweet peassummer dinnersummer dinnersummer dinner

Henk prepared us an insanely delicious dinner yesterday.
Not to mention the appetizing set table with our colorful dishes collection...
Applause for my sweetheart!

We had a lovely evening with friends and enjoyed the summer dinner with the delicious dishes from our favorite cookbook Souk.

The pretty peonies from the market on both sides of the table looked great and the adorable bouquet of Sweet Peas Lammie brought along.

There's nothing like a dinner in good company at a beautifully set table.

stove stuff

stove stuff by wood & wool stool
stove stuff, a photo by wood & wool stool on Flickr.

Following the teapot of 2010, you might think that's unbeatable, but this Christmas we've got again a superfun personal and useful Christmas gift from my employers.

An orange iron casserole and signed 'koninklijke gerechten', their brandnew own written and illustrated (royal dishes) cookbook.

The casserrole is already on the stove, as today we are celebrating another Christmas day with family.

Inspired by the pesto recipe, I've got a request to make another recipe.
This one is for the kitchen wall of my friend Inge and involves a 'Jip & Janneke' pancakes recipe;

pancakes
100 gram flour
2½ dl milk
1 egg
30 gram butter
salt
