lunch hour

kitchenlife cookbook

Today I'm going to try one of the recipes from my new cookbook. I'll make the salad with avocado, apple, pomegranete and mint. Sounds okay right?!

La Famille has released a cookbook of their Moroccan-Italian recipes.
The cookbook was a gift from my friend and workshop partner Ank, because it's one of our favorite lunch places in the Medina.

urban kitchen jungle

kitchen jungle

Another plant in tha house.

The green corner in the living room gets crowded. No more space for this pink-red large leaved beauty, so we've put it in the corner of the kitchen. Temporarily...
I'm still looking for a nice way to put all plants together in the room.
Maybe a plant table collection underneath the stairs?

Suggestions anyone?

what's for dinner?

kitchenkitchenkitchen

I don't allow myself to buy another cookbook for the time being.
As long as there are at least four cookbooks on the cart, from which we have not tried a single recipe yet...
We have so many wonderful cookbooks and yet I do not know what to make for dinner tonight?

summer food

summer foodsummer foodsummer foodsummer foodsummer foodsummer food

We made another delicious recipe from the wonderful cookbook THE SOUK by Salma Hage.
Last weekend we chose chicken with green lentils & a taboulé salad and I can assure you it was so tasteful and quite easy to make.

It surely is a bonus when you can eat such a summer meal outside the garden.

Nothing beats having dinner together in the backyard!

publication [yvestown in de keuken]

publication [yvestown in de keuken][yvestown in de keuken] our 'tajine' chapteryvestown in de keukendaan & yvonne'tante' janneke & willembooklaunch @ sissy boy homeland

What a book! I'm in love...

The pictures, the personal stories and the way it was designed!

Couldn't be better.

I read the book thoroughly for the second time in bed last night and every single story and chapter of the book is so brilliant.

The book has a place of honour on the serving cart (next to the matching green Sissy Boy towel) and the bright ribbon is obviously exactly where our colorful [tajine] chapter in this feel-good-cook-book starts.

Oh man, I'm as proud as a peacock!

ps: [o, wat zie ik je graag Yvonne]

A photo report of the book launch at Sissy Boy Homeland in Amsterdam yesterday.
What a party!
Everyone was having a great time and the book?! the B O O K is even better!
A big applause for Yvonne and Roel.

airy appearance

livingnew york & paris vs new yorkliving

Ever since I saw the half blue Ercol love seat at Anthropologie, I'm in love with that wooden design bench!
They are quite pricey new and a vintage bench is hard to find, or priceless.
This remake of the wooden sixties bench is such a wonderful and affordable alternative.
I love it!

the red makes it

Our kitchen, this Friday morning.

The kitchen is actually very basic, white and bright. The red makes it...(without dominating)

I love this place!
