Malaga - Friday 23rd of June - 9762 steps

Cross the street with your bowl of yogurt with granola and have breakfast under the palm trees, just because you can...

After our second coffee we made a morning tour through the super narrow and colorful streets of El Palo, with door-curtains everywhere.

Lunch at home.

Bike ride the umpteenth to Malaga. The route along the coast never gets boring and the bike path is great (and safe).

Picasso Museum at the end of the afternoon. The collection of the Museo Picasso Málaga is housed in Buenavista Palace, located in the heart of the city’s historic quarter.

We booked tickets for all the exhibitions. A museum visit at the end of the day is an ideal time, not too crowded and you can easily see the whole museum in less than two hours. Deeply impressed, we concluded the visit with a drink in the museum garden.

Slow ride to El Palo and enough time to be back for dinner, because we could only get a table at our neighbors restaurant La Lonja at 10:30 PM.

Noche de San Juan is celebrated annually in Spain on the night of June 23 to 24. It is a magical party where the Spaniards celebrate the return of summer.

In El Palo there was a beachfestival and around the festival area the whole beach was full of locals celebrating with barbecue parties with family and friends. With plenty of food and drink and for some party on the beach until the early morning.

Malaga - Thursday 22nd of June - 11777 steps

Breakfast on the doorstep of Calle Banda del Mar.

Bike ride along the coast to Malaga.

Today we stopped for coffee with a view on the terrace at Baños del Carmen, we pass every time on our bike ride.

Still a long way to cycle (uphill) to Jardín Botánico Histórico - La Concepción. Completely exhausted by the last climb, we decided to have lunch in the restaurant in the garden first, to regain our strength hahaha... We loved the extensive garden and walked for hours to see the enormous collection of plants and trees. Excellent afternoon in the jungle (an alternative Thursday flowerday so to speak) and the return trip down the hill went smoothly.

On the way in the historic center a stop for drinks & ice cream.

Once back in El Palo, Henk went grocery shopping at the DIA in his most colorful outfit.

Espetos de sardinas for dinner at Restaurante Miguelito El Cariñoso on the Paseo Marítimo el Pedregal.

Malaga - Wednesday 21st of June - 7016 steps

Hola Verano!

Early in the morning, when we drink our coffee, our neighboring restaurant is provided with wood for the bbq boat. Other than that, not much is happening yet. We are starting to recognize the morning routine of Calle Banda del Mar, every morning the beach and street are swept clean.

A lazy day in El Palo today.

Pitufos for breakfast at restaurant Al Sur.

Followed by a walk to the easternmost point of Malaga and discover a beautiful weathered palm wall near the harbor.

Picnic lunch on the beach and back home for our first siesta since we got here.

Read a few chapters in my book on the beach in the shade at the end of the day.

By bike to Bar Pez Tomillo, where we had risotto & a fresh piece of cod fish, fried in black vegetable charcoal tempura, for dinner.
