room ten

This weekend we stayed at Villa Augustus, in a water tower room on the third floor with a beautiful view. Looking out from the hotelroom windows, we could see the major rivers of Dordrecht. The room was colorful, comfortable and homely and we would have loved to stay all week.
Delicious food, sleep late and eat breakfast in the hotel room, what bliss! We really enjoyed every single minute!

Elvis got a surprise stool for her eleventh birthday.

A while ago her fabulous mom Daan

ordered a wood & wool stool for her oldest daughter.

Today Daan & Elvis had lunch at Villa Augustus and Elvis came to pick up her surprise...
She was hoping for a stool, she told me during unpacking.
The smile on her face, made ​​my day!

dordrechts museum

 

On Wednesday we visited the Dordrechts Museum.

 

The museum garden itself is oh so beautiful! During late summer evenings the garden is an outdoor cinema.

 

After seeing the art of the famous old masters of Dordrecht, I was caught by these artworks.

A few of my personal highlights of the museum collection are;

The museum is within walking distance of Villa Augustus and one of the jewels of the old town.
