Marrakech 10 november 2025

Early breakfast, served by Malika in the patio at Maison Demi and getting ready for a roadtrip to Oualidia.

Coffee stop on the route to Safi.

Mussel tajine for lunch by the wild ocean at Restaurant Le Phare somewhere along a freshly paved coastroad from Safi to Oualidia.

We are staying for a few days at the El Manzar hotel with a view of the Oualidia lagoon nature reserve, where Ank joins us.

After tea on our terrace, we have a walk in Oualidia town and end up at Seafood Restaurant Au Crabe, where we start with oysters from the lagoon obviously.

Waking up at the lagoon with a thousand birds and an incredibly beautiful sky, followed by an extensive Moroccan breakfast in the salon of El Manzar.

Morning walk in the medina of Oualidia.

Lunch at Hotel La Sultana between salt marshes and vegetable gardens, oyster beds and local fishing, so we spent a long afternoon in this magical nature reserve.

In the evening harira soup in the village, drinks in the salon, watching the spectacular starry sky on the terrace. Tomorrow after breakfast we will continue our road trip south along the Atlantic coast.

orange & green sunday

Marrakech - 9 november 2025

Waking up in Maison Demi by the cozy sounds in the kitchen of Malika, who is preparing a Moroccan breakfast for us.

November in Marrakech means we can simply enjoy fresh coffee from the moka pot on the roofterrace in the sun. Yogurt with homemade granola and bread with amlou, a Moroccan almond paste made with almonds, argan oil and honey. You actually just want to sit here for hours.

However, we have a pampering day booked this Sunday at the Beldi Country Club, so we have to pack our swimming bag.

Since we're still in plenty of time for the taxi, we're going for an espresso at Dada. A new spot from the creators of restaurants Le Jardin & Cafe des Epices. Wow... you already had me at orange. This restaurant is truly stunning, so we decide to book a table for tonight right away.

We drive with Mohammed just outside the city to the green oasis of the Beldi Club, and little has changed since we first came here in 2014 with the Cool crochet workshop. Except it's even greener and more beautiful than I imagined.

We choose a daybed under the olive trees near of the black-tiled swimming pool and first take a stroll through the heavenly gardens.

When we return from our walk full of wonder, we can sit down on the terrace, as the second lunch session is about to begin. It's difficult to choose from the menu on the chalkboard, as there's so many delicious dishes we want to try.

Slow afternoon ahead; relaxing, swimming, lazing, half sun, half shade, so to speak, perfect!

One more walk along the exuberant rose garden and then back to the commotion of the Red city life.

We are immersed in the moroccan atmosphere and are completely used to it.

Freshen up and change clothes and once again across the busy square to restaurant Dada, to look out over the steaming Djemaa from the roof terrace. Us, lucky ones...
