Athens - sunday 19th of April 2026

Sunny Sunday in the sparkling city of Athens.

No route from a city guide today; we're going to discover and figure it all out ourselves...

Off we go into the Petralona neighborhood. On this Sunday morning, city life is slowly awakening. We enjoy the blissful scent of orange blossom once more, because in Athens you really do find orange trees all over the place.

Around noon, we walk back to the historic center and have a drink on the highest rooftop terrace with a view of the Acropolis.

And then one last lunch at Taverna Ermou, to end 5 divine days in style.

Okay then, we'll have one more drink at our regular pub Bachanezos, before we take the metro to the airport.

Efcharistó Athína!

Athens - thursday 16th of April 2026

Delicious breakfast in our enormous loft 3 at 10AM Lofts.

We took the metro to Syntagma and did walk no. 4 from the Time to Momo guidebook. Naturally, with our own twist. We did a great job in the Kolonaki, Lycabettus and Exarcheia neighborhoods, taking many extra little streets off the beaten path. Orange trees everywhere (and the delightful scent of orange blossoms) and graffiti everywhere.

Stops at as many terraces as possible and had a late lunch at Ouzeri Lesvos.

After chilling in the loft for a few hours, off to cafe restaurant Bachanezos around the corner, for a light dinner & drinks. We ordered a few mezze dishes and they were absolutely delicious. Relaxed atmosphere, buzz, and among the locals; for us, the perfect place for a beautiful end to a beautiful day. Eviva Athena!
