skirt day

Antwerp - 27th of February - spring-like, sunshiny Wednesday

Skirt day - or as we call it in the Netherlands; rokjesdag

In the first part of the week was as if spring had already started.
On Wednesday we decided to spend this mild and mainly sunny day in beautiful Antwerp.

Everyone was elated, but in our minds we all know that it is not normal #climatechange

Today, 2nd of March, the weather is back to 'normal' and we really have to wait until it's spring. Just a little patience, nevertheless the first skirts days were a fact.

lay the table

Lammie's new shop (brocante and very special stuff) in one of the many harbors in the old town of Dordrecht, is the scene for a 'blanket shoot'. You should really visit her shop at the Knolhaven no.15 (only open on Saturdays)

A 196-multi-colored-granny-squares blanket is ready to be shipped to France. Traditionally, the blanket must be photographed before departure. (certainly such a mega crochet project)

We bought the table and that's the wind beneath my skirt ...

rokjesdag

Sitting on a sunny terrace in Amsterdam, I suddenly had to think of late Martin Bril. He's my favorite writer and invented rokjesdag.
Skirts days is that one day in spring all women (like magic) suddenly wear skirts, bare legs underneath. A dress is also possible, but no panties to the legs. That is deception.

Yesterday & today were typical skirts days in the Netherlands. A tribute to the creator of skirts days.
