anima puglia
Anima Bed & Wellness - Sunday 5th of September - late summer in Puglia
So we planned a lazy Sunday at Anima around our room in Il Vecchio Forno and the pool.
A breathtakingly beautiful piece of Puglia in the middle of nowhere, created by Francesco and Sieb.
It's so quiet and peaceful and you are just surrounded by nature. In the middle of the centuries-old olive grove, overlooking an enchanting valley with olive trees and so many different kinds of fig trees. From the swimming pool a wide view on the vegetable garden, the water lily pond and a terrace with beds and loungers, partly in the shade of the olive trees.
Besides we have our own terrace in front of the room and a private backyard next to the orangery.
And if you are in one place for 10 days, you have the luxury to stay 'home' for a lazy Sunday with lots of reading, swimming, lazing and la dolce far niente.
In the evening we drove with our Mini cabriolet to the nearby town of Ceglie Messapica for aperativo and dinner. Plenty of choice from osterias and restaurants here and this evening we chose Da Franco at the Piazza Vecchia. Excellent choice as it turned out, the antipasti di mare was truly divine.
On the way a free books fridge where I found a 70s crochet book. And after dinner we got a tour from Valerio in an old library, which now houses an imposing italian vintage and design furniture gallery, called VLab.
