Beachwalk on the Playa del Postiguet, in the morning you have the beach to yourself...

Too many photogenic places in the neighborhoods with steep streets and facades Barri Vell - Santa Creu and Raval Roig. They actually deserve a post in themselves.

Tapas lunch at Café El Mirador, lunch with a view as the name suggests.

Siesta in our apartment Teatro.

Coffee in Soho Park, a white round kiosk in the middle of four giant ficus trees, a unique chill spot.

More walking in the afternoon, interspersed with a terrace and ice cream.

And in the evening we shared paella for dinner at Chipen.

At the end of day two, we already know our way around Alicante and are in the optimal holiday mood. Olé!

Alicante - viernes 1 de abril - 8182 steps

Arrival at the airport at 5 pm.

Quickly dropped the luggage in our apartment, ready for a drink at the Vermutería (together with the locals who start their weekend with a Friday afternoon drink) and exploration of the neighborhood before the sun goes down.

We had an italian/japanese dinner at Burro Canaglia and on our way back home we brought some empanadas for later in the evening.

On our first evening we are pleasantly surprised by the authentic atmosphere, a vibrant city with a seventies vibe, thousands of palm trees throughout the city and our first impression was not at all the pensionados place we were a bit afraid of...

This trip was a last minute alternative to the train journey to Berlin that we had originally booked, but due to the rainy weather we opted for a Mediterranean destination.

easter monday

Easter Monday - 22nd of April

Second day at the beach this year and sunniest and warmest Easter ever.

Like two days ago on Good Friday, we went to the Noordzee coast to spend a few hours on the beach.

Exactly long enough to enjoy a day at the beach without suffering from sunburn afterwards. And to avoid the traffic jam and arrive home on time, to spend the rest of the day in the backyard, to end this splendid Easter weekend with a lovely outdoor dinner.
