The landscape pieces by David Hockney portray the four seasons of the year in Hockney's beloved Yorkshire. With the loose application of paint and use of colours the work refers to one of Hockney's major sources of inspiration: Vincent van Gogh. "Van Gogh makes you see the world around you just a little more intently. He could draw anything and make it enthralling.", according to Hockney.

You can visit this exhibition of Hockney until May 17th in Het Noordbrabants Museum in Den Bosch. This exposition forms part of the theme year Van Gogh 125 years of inspiration.

We're almost halfway November and I'm still picking zinnias from our garden.

Petite Pippa in a frame and some lovely pink lingerie tulips I bought from Pippa (at the local flowershop) last Saturday. I love pink & yellow together!

That's why they are called 'lingerie tulips'...

Okay we may have had no 'winter experience' this year, but certainly a lifelike spring feeling!

From the bay window roof (where I had climbed to capture this beauty) the garden looks like a mini park.

The heart-shaped leaves of the Ginkgo Biloba tree are little pieces of art.
