golden ginkgo weeks in november

ginkgo in november ginkgo in november ginkgo in november november november

November 2025

That one week in early November when the Ginkgo tree in the front garden is at its most beautiful!

... and then a few weeks later when we returned home from Morocco, a bare tree and golden yellow Ginkgo carpet in the front garden and 100% more light in the house.

Saturday 16th of November

Somewhere around this November day the ginkgo tree is at its most spectacular! An annual autumn delight!

Every year, over and over again I am cheered by the golden glow in the front garden, but also in the house.

Many outside coffee moments on the terrace at the 'café au ginkgo' this season.

mimosa pompoms

mimosa mimosa

Yellow fluffy pompoms to brighten up the place!

I love mimosa and its characteristic fragrance, an early bloomer that cheers you up.

Saturday evening Henk organized a Portuguese dinner for our friends Jan & Els. As always, everything was arranged down to the last detail by my creative chef. We had a delicious dinner and a super fun evening. Our friends brought a bunch of mimosa and fritillaria in pots that are about to bloom. Els knows exactly what I like! Both by far my February favorites...

Yellow puffs of fluff brighten up the house.

One bunch of mimosa divided over several vases, ergo mimosa all over the place.

deep-pile ginkgo carpet

ginkgo carpet

It's that time of year again.

After a few weeks of golden glow from the ginkgo tree in the frontyard and a stunning kitchen window view, almost all ginkgo leaves have fallen.

So we drink our daily coffee in the front yard on a deep-pile yellow carpet.
And we will leave the leaves for a little while, simply because it's so beautiful.

November joy of nature.

first day of summer - sweater weather

summer in olhão summer in olhão summer in olhão summer in olhão

What to wear on the first day of summer?

A super light striped summer sweater!

New in my ETSY SHOP; an easy to follow knitting pattern with detailed description in English and Dutch version.

And what is it about stripes that they just scream S U M M E R ?!
Probably it has something to do with sailing on those summer seas.

Hop over to my Etsy shop if you want to knit your one-piece summer sweater. It only takes a couple of days.

Our latest vintage find; a yellow design chair by Gilac, France from the seventies.

The beautifully designed Space Age chair, the design is one-piece molded plastic.

The African electric wire antlers from the stairwell got a prominent place in our bedroom today.

A tiny interior update in our bedroom. Space age meets eclectic style.

christmas 2020

christmas 2020 christmas 2020 christmas 2020 christmas 2020 christmas 2020 christmas 2020

For an extra special and surprising christmas brunch, we've set the table at 'le petit restaurant' in the living room.

Change of scenery creates a different atmosphere. The illusion of being a guest elsewhere, sitting at the table somewhere else, anywhere other than the kitchen table. Using different tableware, that we have not used for a long time.

Try to think positively and creatively despite all the restrictions. A lot is still possible and it felt extra festive to have breakfast at home this morning.

Happy Holidays to you all!
