Monday 20th of June - a lazy in and around Casa Henriette

Because some of us, despite the good protection against the sun, still suffered from sunburn due to the treacherous wind on Ilha do Farol, we decided over breakfast to make it an easy day.

So we stayed in Olhão and Henk and I made a long city walk in the neighborhood and recognized some of the tiled facades from last year.

We both love the colorful and photogenic houses in the old town.

When we went to the train station to buy tickets for tomorrow's train trip, just then they were pruning the bougainvillea and we were allowed to take a few branches of the pruning waste for our casa.

The rest of the day we spent at the plunge pool and in the shade of the morrocan-like roof terrace.

In the evening we went out for dinner together and Liam-Novi enjoyed the cozy dinner just like us. He deserves an award for best baby to take out to dinner!

ria formosa lagoon

Seven days in Parque Natural Ria Formosa.

A small impression of our stay in Ria Formosa from Friday 18th of June - Saturday 26th of June.

The natural park is a maze of canals, islands, marshes and barrier islands with aqua-marine lagoons.

From the mainland there is no direct connection to the islands and beaches, so you have to take a ferry or taxiboat to get to one of the islands, but it is worth it. And during the boat trip you will see birds everywhere and uncover the stunning natural landscape.

Rotterdam - 9th of June 2021
A La Plancha is a pop-up restaurant on the Noordereiland, the island in the river Maas in Rotterdam. During spring and summer a terrace is built on the bridgehead of the old Willemsbrug. Sustainable fish, fried on the grill (a la plancha) on the menu. The location and the atmosphere provide a special experience, as if you are on holiday.

Yesterday evening we first had a citywalk and later on dinner in the sunset at the Maas with the four of us; Soufiane, friend and (Noorder)island resident, son Minne and Henk & moi.
