thursdays are for flowers

thursdays are for flowers thursdays are for flowers thursdays are for flowers thursdays are for flowers

Every Thursday fresh flowers at Villa Augustus.

I arrange at least 8 large bouquets, now with flowers from the auction, later in the season also with freshly picked flowers from the garden.

A weekly job as house florist at Villa Augustus for 15 years now. It's still not a routine after all these years, I work on intuition and also the offer is different every time.

The variety of vases is interesting, the effect of a vase should not be underestimated either, it can really complete a bouquet.

Vase d'Avril by Tsé & Tsé associées is my all time favorite. The vase is a series of glass test tubes connected with zinc covered steel holders.

This week I used a ceramic Cor Unum Carter Gear Vaas by Floris Hovers, it's inspired by an engine block, for Floris is a car enthusiast.

Both vases are quite expensive, but a simple green plastic pitcher can also do the tric...

Speaking of low budget, a bunch of cow parsley, which is now in full bloom on the roadside, is also beautiful!

alluring dahlias

dahlias dahlias dahlias dahlias dahlias

A bunch of bright and beautiful Dahlias on the kitchen table.

Dahlias are so elegant, lush and stylish, they simply have a certain 'allure'.

For a change I chose to put the tubes of the Vase d'Avril in a circle. An awesome sight, especially from above.

The dahlias are from the Villa Augustus garden, they have been blooming abundantly since the beginning of summer, it has been a great dahlia season so far.

I really can't choose which dahlia is the prettiest...

vase d'amour

vase d'amour vase d'amour vase d'amour

Vase d'avril, but i call it vase d'amour for the occasion.

Last week in Paris, Henk surprised me with a very special wedding anniversary gift.
We visited the shop of Tsé & Tsé Associés in Paris and while i was looking around upstairs in the amazing shop, Henk bought my favorite vase.
It was an amazing surprise!

I've been working with the Vase d'Avril for almost ten years now, during my flowerdays at Villa Augustus.
During the years I've sold a lot of vases in the market shop and told the happy new owners it's a great investment, because you can create a tiny flowerfield with just a few flowers.
This morning I bought some tulips at the flowershop, where my daughter Pippa is working and she choose those pretty pastel pink tulips for me.

I think it looks amazing on the small table in our kitchen and I'm very happy with it. So precious!

Two days in Paris to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary.
Paris is romantic and we enjoyed our umpteenth stay in the city of love.
Vive l'amour!
