evergreen

wood & wool x-mas treewood & wool x-mas tree

This cute hare we bought last year in London at Anthropologie, with a some of his family members.
Our hare collection was too cute to put in a box for next year's Christmas, so they stayed together on a shelf in the hallway during the whole year.
I even bought another hare online some days ago, that will arrive soon.
The sweet mini paper balls I found at HEMA this week.

It has become a tradition to make a new tree for ourselves every year.

I was kind of surprised when I found out, this will be the seventh season we are making wood & wool x-mas trees.
There are some bright and merry trees available in my Etsy shop.
It's about time to make some new ones.
Today I've made this pastel tree for our home and after the colorful trees of the last months, I will make some natural and white ones again in the next few weeks.
So if you would like to have an evergreen at home for Christmas, stay tuned...

we are knitters™ - give away

we are knitters™ give awaywe are knitters beanie kit brown beaniebeanie in parisbrown beaniemy marrakech handmade hat

Today I'm allowed to give away a knitting kit from we are knitters™.
You can win a knitting kit and make yourself a brown beanie!
We are knitters™ was created to teach people from all ages how to knit.
Their purpose is to recover the ancient tradition of knitting in a cool way.
I've been asked to promote this brand and I am pleased to do so, because I think everyone should experience the pleasure of making something yourself.
It's wise to start with a small project and make something you really like.

I love wearing beanies and have a small collection that I wear quite often!
The beanies I'm wearing here, I didn't make myself (for a change) but they are handmade in Marrakech and are not knitted but crocheted.
Would you like to wear a beanie this winter season?

All you have to do is join this give away and knit it! So leave a comment on this post and I will pick a lucky winner on Sunday 10-11-2013 at 8.00 pm! The good thing is that it's a knitting kit for beginners, so everyone can join and enjoy making a beanie! The kit contains brown wool, wooden knitting needles and an easy to follow pattern. "All the happiness in a kit".

I know from years of experience that wool is cool and handmade is the best!

all about flowers

Some weeks ago I met Tessa Triesscheijn at Villa Augustus. Tessa is Conversation Manager at Mooiwatbloemendoen.nl and we had a nice conversation about my job and weekly flowerdays at Villa Augustus.

You can read the interview here.

During the interview we walked through the beautiful gardens of Villa Augustus, where we pick flowers from May to October. This year was the best flower year, since Villa Augustus opened in 2007. Never before we picked so many flowers from the garden.
The Zinnias were my favorite flowers this season.

peep toes & peep fingers

wood & wool wearwood & wool wearwood & wool wearwood & wool wear

Although we planned to walk into the woods yesterday, we didn't feel like going anywhere.
Due to bad weather we decided to stay at home and take a few autumnal pictures of the newly created fingeless mittens in our frontyard. I assumed my feet would stay out of sight, so I went outside in my non autumnal "sitting shoes" for a quick shoot and didn't put on my boots.

I had to laugh when I found out my feet are visible in some of the pictures. Actually the [peep toes & peep fingers] effect is kind of funny.

Thanks for your nice comments on the wee mittens on my blog and Instagram.
After three orders in one day (even one from New Zealand) I can't guarantee the shipping term of 3-5 days, but of course I'll do my utmost!

warm wee wear

wood & wool wearwood & wool wearwood & wool wearwood & wool wear

Brandnew mittens! I've made myself some fingerless mittens, for the fall season.
The pair of wrist worms by Sandra Juto I've bought some years ago, are favorite this time of year. I love to wear them!

I do like my wood & wool wee wear design so much and thought it would be great to make myself a wee pair of mittens!

They've become even cuter I had hoped and are nice and warm! So now there's some wee wear for everyone!
