papier marché project

Monday 10th of February

Papier maché project.

This project has been on my to do list for a while. I kept the colorful graphic sheets from last year's tear-off calendar by Karel Martens.

I started the first layer with an old IFFR filmfestival newspaper, covering the base of a table lamp.
I made the glue paste with 1 part flour and 2 parts water.

It's a precise messy and sticky job, however trust the process.

After drying overnight I could start the second phase with some more layers today, this time with the brightly colored calendar sheets.

So far I am pleasantly surprised with the result. The papier maché lampshade and base have already turned out wonderfully beautiful. I can hardly wait until the table lamp is ready for use!

mirror mirror

bathroom update bathroom update

Today's bathroom update.

Two vintage space age mirrors, one for him, one for her.

We found the first mirror by chance in a vintage shop in Rotterdam last month. I searched online for the second.
The mirrors are from an Ikea collection from 1969 and in perfect condition.

Isn't it special that after all these years they form a perfect pair in our bathroom?
I love those special interior items that make the space unique!

knitting pattern - leftover spencer (english version)

knitting pattern leftover spencer knitting pattern leftover spencer

NEW DESIGN

The knitted leftover spencer!

Yesterday I already launched the knitting pattern in my native language, today the English version is ready.

The good thing is that you already have the required yarn in stock. You don't have to buy any yarn at all, it doesn't matter what colors you use, because in the end your version will be perfect and unique.

So if you feel like making it too? Jump to my Etsy shop and promise to show me your version, once it's finished!
