tin toy tortoise

toy tortoise

Tortoise in da house.

Since a few days we have a pet. A walking tortoise, a walking tin tortoise. Nostalgia!

Our brown tin tortoise, slowly walks on the harlequin carpet with his cute curved legs! You only need to wind him up and he simultaneously moves his legs, tail and head just like the real animal.

A real one would have been even more fun of course, but we simply don't have the right climate for tortoises.

I bought the tortoise in the Villa Augustus market shop and there are some more tortoises waiting for a new home.

You can see our tortoise in action on my INSTAGRAM!

marrakech theme - tea & turtle

woodwoolstool turtle pattern woodwoolstool turtle pattern

A new crochet project for the upcoming cool crochet workshop in Marrakech in October.

I've made a 'turtle' teapot holder for my moroccan teapot.

Turtles are common pets in Marrakech and in Chambres d'Amis two turtles are living in the roofgarden.

Using a turtle potholder to poor fresh verbena tea, is a cool crochet project which fits perfectly in the Marrakesh theme.

slow down

I already made a turtle pillow for the bamboo daybed last year, but that's too ambitious as a cool crochet day-project, so I designed a smaller achievable version.

slow summer evening

slow down slow down slow down

Summer is not over yet...
We are enjoying one of the last August summer evenings.

The turtle pillow was a project I already started in May and it truly turned out to be a S L O W project!

Between the pile of unfinished projects, the turtle emerged and I finally took the time to finish the slow turtle pillow last week.

Isn't he cute, chilling on the daybed?

s l o w crochet

slow crochet les turtles

I'm off to Marrakech.

From Wednesday - Monday we will travel in and around Marrakech with our wool baskets to experience new adventures.

I'm looking forward to stay in Marrakech for a long time and absorb all the colours, sounds and flavors.

We will start on Wednesday with the 7th edition of the Cool Crochet Workshop and I can't wait to meet the new fellow crocheteers (from Belgium, Canada, France, Saudi Arabia, Scotland, Sweden and Switzerland) and to see old friends again.

After a week of crochet travels we will start a brandnew g r e e n adventure with the 1st edition of the Green Gardens workshop; #greenisthetheme

So no new posts or updates on my blog for a while, but you can follow our adventures on Instagram @woodwoolstool and #coolcrochetworkshop #greengardensworkshop #woodwoolstool #chambresdamis ...

Au revoir!
