tin toy tortoise

toy tortoise

Tortoise in da house.

Since a few days we have a pet. A walking tortoise, a walking tin tortoise. Nostalgia!

Our brown tin tortoise, slowly walks on the harlequin carpet with his cute curved legs! You only need to wind him up and he simultaneously moves his legs, tail and head just like the real animal.

A real one would have been even more fun of course, but we simply don't have the right climate for tortoises.

I bought the tortoise in the Villa Augustus market shop and there are some more tortoises waiting for a new home.

You can see our tortoise in action on my INSTAGRAM!

baby blanket pattern

wood & wool b&w baby blanket wood & wool b&w baby blanket

Finally!

I've written the pattern of the wood & wool baby blanket. The first one I already made in 2010 and during the last 6 years received lots of questions about the pattern.

This black & white version of the blanket I started in August last year, so it's about time to finally finish the project!

The pattern is NOW available in my E T S Y - S H O P and you can find a lot of different versions on my blog, when you search for baby blanket inspiration!

bathroom rug

wood & wool harlequin rugwood & wool harlequin rug

This colorful harlequin rug I've made with homemade fabric yarn, using piles of old T-shirts.
Good combination of cleanup and reuse.
It's also a very cheap way to make a striking rug!

If you fancy to make this rug for your (bath)room, all you need is a hook size 12 and a huge pile of old T-shirt or about 2000 grams of fabric yarn.

You can buy the harlequin rug PATTERN in my Etsy shop!
