Publication HAPPY HANDMADE LIVING

HHL is an inspiring new Dutch magazine, about interior, creative inspiration, patterns, DIY projects, fashion and travel. Now available in stores.

Recently I was interviewed by chief editor Lisanne Multem from Happy Handmade Living for a publication on my atelier, blog, interior, work, travel workshops & more. You can read the interview in the first issue of Happy Handmade Living.

Lisanne sent me two copies, one to keep and one to give away.

Would you like to win this first issue of the seasonal Happy Handmade Living magazine?

Please leave your comment on my Instagram account @woodwoolstool and I will pick a winner of this give away on Monday September 9th!

And anyone can participate, however the magazine is a Dutch edition.

Curtains blowing in the breeze...

I just L O V E the look of the waving curtains and shadow play.

To capture the atmosphere, I made a video and posted it on Instagram this morning. P L A Y video

striped curtain

Spicy stripes for the curtain in the dormer window on our sloping attic room.

A good crochet project to use the colored wool from marrakech, in very easy filet-crochet harlequin pattern. I started it some weeks ago, not knowing what it would be.

Well, in the end it's a 'crocheted curtain anno 2019' and obviously it was not exactly fitting the window size. Do you see the subtle line? I subsequently made it a little bit longer. That's what I like about handmade; never perfect...

The colorful crochet fabric is made horizontal, but I preferred to hang it vertically.

In our (almost) all-white attic bedroom it's okay to use some colour.
I am thrilled with how serene this space turned out with the filtered light. Great atmosphere!

monday nook

moroccan wool cool crochet workshop moroccan wool

My monday afternoon nook, from where I'm working on a new crochet project* surrounded by spools of moroccan wool, i've brought home from Marrakech over the years.

A mini 'crochet picnic' on the daybed, after a busy weekend.

not yet completely sure what it will be...
a curtain for my studio?
a daybed cover?
or maybe a baby blanket?

cheers to the weekend

cheers to the weekend

Friday in the late afternoon.

Back home from work. It was pouring outside.

I had been looking forward to this moment all day: lights on, fresh coffee and continue my crochet project.

Cheers to the weekend!

Roadtrip to the Atlas Mountains. Destination Kasbah Bab Ourika. Cool crochet project on a higher level, literly.

After arrival we first have a super delicious lunch with an amazing view on the red valley. Actually, you're not going to get it any better and later on you just want to relax in the beautiful garden or to swim, laze and crochet...

According to a cc workshop tradition, we bring the big wool baskets on our roadtrip to the mountains, to make a cover for the xs woodwoolstools. Better known as suitcase size stool, because everyone can bring it home in the suitcase 'easily'.

At the end of the day I'm always amazed, how different all the handmade stool covers turned out. Love to see how every stool has it's own style in whatever way, using the same pattern. However, we completely forgot to take a group photo with our covered mini stools.

Kasbah Bab Ourika days are simply the best to end a wonderful workshop week full of adventures with cheerful, creative and lovely women.

Accompanied by a great group of enthusiasts, we went into the medina on day one.

During our morning walk to the wool warehouse, we made everyone familiar with the medina-maze. Especially when it's the first time in the Red City it's truly overwhelming, with thousands of influences on all your senses.

Packed with our supplemented wool stock, we landed at lunchtime on the panorama terrace of the Maison de la Photographie, starting with the first project; straw hat with application! I made a palm tree strawhat as example and obviously everyone was free to create their own design.

The CC TEAM* worked diligently in between the delicious lunch dishes and we continued our medina tour to the Secret Garden, to enjoy the incredible green oasis until sunset.
