Zinnias in the garden, in the vase and for the future.
The more flowers you pick, the more you stimulate flowering. In the vase, put your zinnias preferably on a small layer of water.
Remove overblown flowers as soon as possible, therefor all energy goes to new flowers, and you have constant bloom.
However, if you want to harvest seeds to sow next year, you need to wait until the flowers finish blooming and allow the seeds to ripen. Just make sure to harvest the zinnia seeds after a few sunny days, whereby the seed heads are dry and not soaking wet.
Don't sow zinnias in the same place two years in a row.
I put these faded zinnias in a vase, and will let them dry and keep the seeds for next year.
... and I also like faded flowers.
The first stitches of this pillow I made last May.
This chevron pillow ended up on the pile of almost unfinished projects.
And all I actually had to do, was to buy an inner cushion and sew the seam. Having 'extra' time, somehow brings so much satisfaction.
The cushion has two different sides; one white & multicolored stripes and the other one white, lilac & yellow with smaller stripes.
Fancy to make one yourself?
You can download the chevron pillow pattern in my ETSY SHOP.
PS: All patterns in my shop are still 1 euro each and I keep donating the pattern sales proceeds to a Corona fund.
Since I started the 1 euro - pattern sale on March 15th, I already sold over 350 patterns, huge thanks to everyone who contributed to this 'creative' help!
Nothing beats dinner in the backyard! Whenever possible, we eat outside.
To me it is one of the best-loved 'little things', unhesitatingly.
The Nasturtium flower seeds under the small ginkgo tree are already growing considerably over the last weeks (and the wooden skewers I planted to keep the cats out of the tree tub...)
Morning walk in Aslergrund.
Coffee at Jonas Reindl at the Sigmund Freund park.
During our walk in the neighborhood, we passed one street after another with big beautiful pastel-colored houses.
Vintage shopping at Catrinette, the display windows are already promising and once inside we were surprised by the interior and all vintage objects.
Lunch on the patio garden of Kunsthaus Wien. And after lunch we walked along the Donau to the Hundertwasserhaus a few block further.
In the afternoon we visited Foto Wien in Otto Wagner's Postsparkasse building, his most modern and important work. A peek inside the iconic building itself was imposing, such a cool photo festival location.
With green & pink you can't go wrong. Those two colors compliment each other really nicely.
Actually this is the prototype of my latest chevron pillow design. I started to make this one before the two multicolored chevron pillows.
While I was working on this green & pink project, I imagined the chevron pattern would look cool with lots of colors too. And eventually I finished the multicolored ones first.
Last week I finally finished the green & pastel pink pillow... (well as a matter of fact I simply had to stitch the seams)
Using only two colors, this green & pink pillow is quite a bit easier to make, also for beginners.
